Matthew Thomson, Accommodation Experience Manager at Limefitt Holiday Park, is running next year’s London Marathon on behalf of the National Autistic Society. 🏃♂️ Matt's four-year-old son is autistic and our inspirational team member decided he wanted to take on the challenge to show him anything is possible. Earlier this month, Matt completed what he named the 'Parkdean Resorts North West Parks Ultra Marathon'. The starting point was Limefitt Holiday Park and with over 70km covered, he visited White Cross Bay, Fallbarrow, Gatebeck and Regent Bay throughout his run before finishing at Ocean Edge with a time of 7 hours 21 minutes and over 8,000 calories burned 💪 A huge well done to Matt for taking on such a tough challenge and to raise awareness and money for such an important cause. #ParkdeanResorts #ParksPeoplePlanet #WeareParkdean

As our namesake, the Charles River inspires us daily — and the Head of the Charles Regatta is no exception! Here are five lessons we learned from watching this remarkable event: 1) Every crew member counts: Although the members within a boat have different responsibilities, it’s through working together that they can push towards the finish line. 2) Stand out with your brand: How could we spot our favorite teams on the water? By their eye-catching uniforms and boats. Just like in our industry, brand design matters! 3) Use your success to uplift others: Many rowers fundraise to support a charity of their choice, and their commitment made every stroke matter that much more. 4) Foster inclusivity: The Head of the Charles invites a wide range of ages and abilities to participate, and it’s through this openness that they have been able to build a strong sense of community and inclusivity. 5) Be prepared: Each rower’s performance on the river was the result of their endless hard work and dedication. Even when results aren’t immediate, daily commitment pays off. #HeadoftheCharles #HOTC #CharlesRiver

Our organisation operates a wellness and reconnection centre, featuring a hydrotherapy pool, gym, community hub, specialist centre, clubhouse and an extension accommodation facility. Our organisation also includes 3 family apartments, 3 purposely designed homes, and a retreat in the Tasmanian wilderness—all achieved with no government funding. Are you sure "It's never gonna happen" or "We don't have the population" or "But the tracks conditions are" or "The trestles need repair" are reasons not to do it? It's the least expensive now than it ever will be, and the corridor is already there and owned collectively by the 14 First Nations and 5 Regional Districts it passes through and is governed in a 50-50 relationship through the Island Corridor Foundation, a non-profit charity. It appears MOTI is starting to see the light of day with his presentation at the AVICC, a municipal conference held last weekend, where he spoke very optimistically about moving forward with the Nations and that everyone was coming to the table.” Everything about the Vancouver Island Railway has been studied to death and it's all very positive, so let's not fool ourselves into thinking we can ignore this strategic asset and let it languish due to the loud voices of the minority that would see its demise. Let's keep the pressure on! Nearly 13,800 people have signed the petition so far, get your ticket to ride by signing on https://chng.it/HTPJ25CqPr, All Aboard! "*ANNOUCEMENT* Today we mark our fifth anniversary by launching our biggest campaign yet - Reimagining Parks. Our five years of research and work mean we estimate that a shocking 1 in 3 local people cannot access parks. We get things done. So we have set ourselves a huge ambition for everyone in Bristol and Bath to have a park that is accessible to them within a ten-minute reach of where they live, work or study. Your Park will focus on measures to make local parks physically accessible for #Disabled people and their #carers, redesigned with the safety and enjoyment of #women and girls in mind, and used to support people struggling with their #mentalhealth. Charlee Bennett, our CEO says: “Our Reimagining Parks campaign is not just changing landscapes, it’s fostering inclusivity, safety and wellbeing. This is a huge campaign for a growing charity like ours to take on, but through our work with local communities over the last five years, we are absolutely clear on what needs to be done and we are determined to start delivering the changes now.” Find out more here: https://buff.ly/3JSD1mL. ☑️ Get behind the 200,000 people with no park access by donating, liking and sharing our posts. #ReimaginingParks #Community #Health #AccessibleParks"

Jasper *, 25, became homeless following a rough family situation. Having nowhere else to go he slept rough in some woods. 💔 He came to Farm Place, Amber’s centre in Surrey, for a safe place to stay, a way to move on in life and not spiral further out of control. 🌟 Since being at Amber, Jasper has made good friends with shared experiences, he’s found a good routine which simulates a working day. 🧡 Jasper found the Team Leaders to be really caring and always around to listen: “I love it at Farm Place. The people are nice, there’s lots of nature and a good structure in place. There’s so much opportunity here.” 🌸🐦🌳 Jasper volunteered at an outdoor learning centre and at a local flower farm. He also enjoyed weekly outdoor walks with his team. Jasper is moving forward into a permanent job as a production operative at a local brickworks company: 👷 “I’m proud of myself, a lot of people would’ve shied away from working on yourself with the Amber programme. But I was brave and took it on the chin and came to Amber. I’m so happy, my life has finally started again.” One of Jasper’s goals for the future is to go back to Australia, where he had been travelling before. He’s hoping to visit Perth and start surfing again. 🇦🇺🏄 Here’s what Jasper had to say about his time at Amber: “If it wasn’t for Amber, I’d either be dead or sleeping rough in the woods still. Amber’s given me more motivation and a sense of direction. Amber’s taken me from being street homeless to getting a good job that pays well. I’ve now got a bright future ahead of me.” #Surrey #GoodNews #BrightFuture #CreatingOpportunities #FreshStart #SupportedHousing #YoungPeople #Charity
