I'm a big fan of quadracycles, for me they can add stability, weather protection and ease of use for older/unwell folks like me while still being a small form factor and with pretty good environmental and sustainability cred. Unfortunately, most cities, despite people averaging under 40 km/h in them, not being designed for them. Traditional vehicles, particularly trucks are a threat and bike lanes are often too narrow or don't permit these types of vehicles. Add to that different rules in different countries, it isn't an easy market. But I do think one day, many cities will be teaming with these as cost effective mobility solutions. Sodium batteries with low prices could make them more financially viable, as could ride share arrangements. So hopefully one day these types of vehicles will become more ubiquitous.

Rental e-scooters like ours are safer than private e-scooters. Electric scooters available for rent often have larger wheels and better suspension. In addition, the steering ability and braking system are sharper, which makes the rental variants safer, according to research just published by Chalmers University, in Sweden. “They can brake much faster, and then it becomes easier to avoid an accident,” says researcher Marco Dozza. Pedal assist and quadracycles are an emerging urban mobility solution, particularly for European and Asian cities with many thinner streets and in Europe, an ever improving bike lane network. However, many are limited in cargo capacity. To address this market segment we have the ePack, semi-trailer pedal assist offering. While you're not going to be restocking Walmart with it, for smaller deliveries it offers an interesting low emissions solution. Watching the video, my issues are how it works in bad weather, particularly given open side and low to ground and also impact of side winds, which in wind tunnels in many cities could be an issue. Still, I like the idea and hope they find a market. And no it's not going to work in surban and rural America, yeah no shit, surprisingly that's not the market. 🙄
