Today, a situation occurred on the last day of the Innosuisse program at Venturelab, which made me break down in tears in front of 20 people during the pitch. I can't remember the last time I cried, but today, I couldn't hold back my tears. I was forced to leave immediately after the pitch because I started to choke on my own tears. The reason for my tears was the arrogant, dismissive, devaluing, and disrespectful remarks I received from two investors. It's important to note that I wasn't looking for investments, and the only reason I pitched was because it was a mandatory part of the training program. I wasn't expecting feedback; I didn't need it. I wasn't seeking investments, and I made this clear from the beginning. The "top-down" attitude was demonstrated to me with words that hurt so much that I've been and still crying for several hours. "The reason you will fail is..." - that's what those who came to support founders and help them improve say. It was said so categorically, and in those words, there was so much confidence that failure was inevitably awaiting me. This person was so eager for me to fail in my business, my startup, that he couldn't keep his thoughts to himself and felt the need to voice them. It hurts to hear because I work around the clock every day, because I'm a solo founder, a foreigner, and sometimes I'm so scared. I'm alone in a foreign country, without support. I strive every day as if my entire future depends on it. I overcome myself daily. And I am so happy with my results. I rejoice when I see that my clients are all satisfied, increasing their checks, signing long-term contracts with my company. I have fantastic review from all my clients. But it's so painful to see how two men publicly destroy you, a woman, in front of 20 people, fellow founders like you, choosing words that wound and leave a mark on the heart!
