Hello readers interested in #AI This week I want to share with you an article from Forbes about the 50 AI most promising #Startups. I think this article will be very interesting for my friends at MassChallenge or Founders Institute. As I know that many of you don't have the time to read it, I'd like to share a few conclusions with you. - Only 6 of these 50 Startups are in Europe. We are losing the race. I think we should promote innovation much more if we want to stay relevant. - 28 of these 50 companies are new to the list. The speed of #innovation is accelerating. - 24 of these 50 companies have a valuation of more than $1billion (and yes, we are talking about startups). - The median of these companies has only 89 people on the headcount. 🚀 35 US AI Startups Raising $100M+ in 2024 🚀 AI is booming in 2024, with a remarkable number of startups securing significant funding. Here are some highlights: Safe Superintelligence: $1 billion raised at a $4 billion valuation. Magic: $320 million Series C, a major leap in AI coding. Abnormal Security: $250 million for AI-driven email security. xAI: $6 billion Series B for an AI platform that will “accelerate human scientific discovery" Scale AI: $1 billion for data-labeling services, now valued at nearly $14 billion. AI startups are growing in the innovation race, with ten companies from Forbes' AI 50 list collectively securing $29.5b in funding. OpenAI dominates the landscape with an impressive $11.3b, surpassing all other startups. Following OpenAI is Anthropic, which raised $7.7 billion, signalling significant investor confidence in companies driving large-scale AI advancements. These two companies alone account for over half of the total funding of all Forbes AI 50 firms. Databricks, a name synonymous with data infrastructure, comes in third with $4 billion in funding, emphasising the critical need for scalable data management systems in the age of AI. Meanwhile, Anduril, a defence technology innovator, secured $2.8 billion, showcasing how AI also shapes defence and national security sectors. Notably, the funding sharply drops after these four, with other companies raising less than $800m Note: Forbes’ AI 50, in partnership with Sequoia and Meritech Capital, highlights the top private startups advancing AI with the most promising business applications.

Of the 221 startups analysed by Dealroom and Accel, around 27%, almost a third of the group, were created in London. Tel Aviv came second with 13%; Berlin 12%; and Amsterdam 5%. Interestingly, although Paris is the city everyone has been talking about for a while as a hotbed for AI development, it found itself in the middle of the city rankings, with 10%. Yet French startups that describe themselves as working in the field of generative AI have raised $2.29 billion to date, the most of any country in Europe, and more than Israel.

If you can push human knowledge forward, you can push society and civilisation forward. It’s a great opportunity because it brings people along; it gives them an intuitive sense of the capabilities and risks. The opportunities are huge now. #indianstartups #startupecosystem #genai
