With climate protests growing increasingly confrontational, are those tactics galvanizing or repelling people? This year’s #EGAretreat was powerful. While #ClimateWeek geared up on the East Coast, hundreds of EGA leaders from around the U.S. joined together on the West Coast to learn and develop solutions for sustaining movements affecting generational change, with care for everyone’s well-being and the planet. #ClimateJustice, intergenerational practices, demonstration and protest rights, reparations, Land Back and co-governance approaches to Tribal sovereignty were among the topics. WGF supported and moderated a panel discussion on the importance of protecting the democratic rights to free speech, peaceful protest and collective action—relating to the #SLAPP suits.
