📢 New Article Alert: "2025 Guide to Pay and Allowances for Military Service Members, Veterans, and Retirees" All active-duty service members will not receive the same percentage pay raise in 2025 and two reasons were identified: 1️⃣ Junior enlisted troops will see a bigger raise in 2025. Congress authorized this to address challenges many face in affording basic needs and other financial pressures. 2️⃣ Top officers' pay is capped. This would appear to ensure it doesn’t exceed that of certain high-ranking civilian government executives. These adjustments aim to balance equity and affordability across the ranks. 📖 Dive into the details in the Military Times article by clicking here and let us know your thoughts - https://lnkd.in/eK_eD3Yj 💬 What do you think about these changes? Best news (if it passes) I've seen in some time. Double-digit raises for our armed forces junior-enlisted troops. "The House Armed Services Committee will consider a proposal next week that will give junior enlisted troops a 15% basic pay raise on top of a 4.5% raise for all service members." I remember the significant military pay increases in the early '80s during the build-up. These young men and women are the ground-truth of our defenses - few professions are this consequential - in fact, the armed forces are at the top of that list. For the ~18% of the 118th Congress who had the courage to serve, make this your priority. The remaining 80% who didn't need to support this. We definitely need to narrow the gap between enlisted and officer. NCOs provide unparalleled experience and knowledge in training and operations. Ask any young LT how much they learned from their NCOs and you’ll understand the need for fairer compensation.

Several solid ideas - all key to not only recruiting but most importantly, retention. The military profession is very different, in dozens of ways, than a civilian career path, which makes recruiting and retention a unique challenge. Every enlisted person enters as a Private/Airman/Seaman. Every officer enters as a Lieutenant/Ensign. Talent growth starts at the bottom and promotes up.* Unlike the civilian world, there is no such thing as just hiring a bunch of civilians and making them non-commissioned officers, or hiring a swath of civilians as officers to fill mid/upper ranks. Experience matters. A critical element in our armed forces. *Very few exceptions in critical fields - legal, medical, etc). #Veterans #military US Congress US Army United States Air Force US Navy United States Marine Corps United States Space Force https://lnkd.in/gmZRgxbN
