Life has a way of taking unexpected turns, leading us down paths we never imagined. For Matteo Mantovani, that path led to Iraq – a destination he volunteered for without fully understanding what drove him. When he stepped off a plane in the Italian winter, dressed in a heavy overcoat and boots, only to be greeted by the wave of dry Iraqi heat, Matteo realised he had some lessons to learn … quickly. While he may not have fully known what he was volunteering for all those years ago, he’s now profoundly glad he stepped into the country that would steal his heart. Amidst the challenges and complexities of Iraq, Matteo found a country brimming with potential, rich in culture, and eager for growth. This journey wasn’t just about personal adventure; it was an opportunity to shed positive light on an often misunderstood and overlooked land. I recently watched "The Swimmers," a powerful and inspiring movie about two Syrian sisters who fled the war and made it to Europe. The movie has very deep messages and you might find yourself shedding tears uncontrollably as you watch the movie. It was very moving for me personally. Therefore, I wanted to share the review with you all and recommend you to watch this movie. "The Swimmers" (2022) is a drama film based on the true story of Yusra and Sara Mardini, two sisters from Syria who fled their war-torn country and undertook a perilous journey to seek refuge in Germany. The film follows their journey from Syria to Germany, highlighting their struggle for survival, courage, and determination. Their incredible journey is a testament to the strength and resilience of immigrants everywhere, and it resonates deeply with the experiences of many from the Middle East, Africa, and other conflict-affected regions, including Afghanistan 🇦🇫, and my own journey as I had to flee my country. "The Swimmers" not only highlights their struggles but also their unwavering determination and hope. It sheds light on the sacrifices made by those who leave everything behind in search of safety and opportunity. From the movie, we learn several key lessons: 1. Resilience in Adversity: No matter how dire the circumstances, human spirit and resilience can lead to incredible feats. 2. Power of Hope: Hope can be a driving force that helps individuals overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. 3. Importance of Support: The role of family and community support is crucial in navigating through hardships. 4. Raising Awareness: Stories like these are vital in raising awareness about the refugee crisis and fostering empathy and understanding. I won’t spoil the story. I highly recommend watching this movie. It will inspire you and broaden your perspective on the experiences of immigrants. #TheSwimmers #ImmigrantStories #Inspiration #MustWatch

Building Resilience in Times of Crisis My learning experience in Israel transformed my perspective. It showed me that something good can emerge from the midst of crisis. Witnessing the cohesion, patriotism, and loyalty among the people made me reevaluate how often we take peace for granted. In Israel, bomb shelters are a common sight, providing safety for the community. Yet, these shelters exist alongside vibrant, clean, and green areas that symbolize life and resilience. The juxtaposition of safety measures with flourishing public spaces highlights a determination to maintain normalcy even in challenging circumstances. Additionally, the country’s focus on food production, especially its sweet fruits, illustrates innovation and perseverance. Despite the odds, the commitment to nurturing the land and providing sustenance not only nourishes the body but also uplifts the spirit. This experience taught me that, even in the face of adversity, communities can reveal their strength and capacity for growth. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of gratitude and the potential for renewal, even during difficult times. #MashavIsrael #purplevestmission

𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗪𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗘 It’s my birthday—but that’s not all. November 22nd is also Lebanon’s Independence Day, a day meant to symbolize freedom and resilience. Yet today, Lebanon is under attack. Families are suffering, lives are shattered, and my heart aches for the people who are enduring unimaginable pain right now. But here’s the thing about Lebanon and its people: 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲—𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺. Did you know Lebanon gave the world the alphabet? Or that it’s home to Byblos, one of the oldest cities in history? It’s a country rooted in brilliance and resilience, and no war, no hardship, can erase that. Growing up Lebanese, I learned that resilience isn’t a choice—it’s a way of life. It’s why I don’t just look at challenges; I face them, learn from them, and grow stronger. Lebanon taught me that. So today, I want to honor the people of Lebanon—those fighting to survive, those who’ve been lost to war, and those who carry the spirit of our beautiful country wherever they go. This isn’t just about my birthday or our Independence Day. It’s about celebrating the unbreakable spirit of the Lebanese people. #lebanon #resilience #transformation CCICL (Chambre de commerce et d'industrie Canada-Liban)

International Friendship Day was first proposed in 1958 by the World Friendship Crusade, an organization dedicated to promoting peace and friendship among all people. The day gained recognition by the United Nations in 2011, emphasizing the need for friendships in building bridges between diverse cultures and fostering global harmony. Be intentional and take a moment to connect with your friends, whether through a call, text, or social media. Share a memory, express gratitude, or simply say hello. Show appreciation for your friends by performing small acts of kindness. This could be as simple as writing them a heartfelt note or doing something special for them. #livehappy #bekind #empower #encourage #uplift #combatvet #combatveteran #armyvet #armyveteran #over50andfabulous #femaleentrepreneur #milspouselife #milspo #militaryspouse #milspoentrepreneur #greysisters #seasonedmilspouse #latina #latinoamerica #latinamerica #latina #americalatinayelcaribe #americalatina #genx #Genz #CB2RB

When Scott Ritter, a former US Marine describes US as a "beggar nation". What he means is that they don't have a moral compass. He describes the Egyptian leadership in the same way and states that peace should no longer exist between Israel and Egypt since they are in violation of the Camp David Accords. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: Sadly I don't think Egypt is going to do what it is permitted to do, which is to declare war on Israel. Peace should no longer exist between Egypt and Israel and yet it does. Israel has been able to get away with literal murder. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: America has disgraced itself and has shown that it cannot be a meaningful partner in peace in any agreement where the words have to carry weight. 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗮𝘆: And seizing the gate to Egypt makes that ethnic cleansing even more likely and easy. They have the gate, they can open it and they can tell the Palestinians if they want to avoid getting killed they better run before the gate closes. That might be the next step. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: I don't think the Israelis will tell the Palestinians anything, they will heard them to like sheep to slaughter. They will be giving them no options. Flee or die. 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗮𝘆: Talk about kicking a can down the road, they are kicking a human can of enormous magnitude into somebody else's country. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: One minor exception, to the Israelis they are kicking human animals. They are moving them as if you would a flock of sheep or herd of cattle. To be executed, to be left to die. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: I don't know how human beings can allow this to happen to other human beings in broad daylight. This is not something happening in the shadows. This is an epic failure in leadership and morality. These governments do not speak for us. We the people are leading the way now. #stopisrael #ceasefirenow #freepalestine 🇵🇸 🕊 -- Support our efforts to help Gazans get to safety: helpfundgaza.com
