💡 Why Great Ideas Don’t Always Bring Marks in #ACCA Exams 💡 Let me start with an example: "Smoking in public places should be banned as smoking leads to cancer, which will be treated out of taxpayers' pockets. This is not fair to those that don't smoke." Would this statement score a mark on an ACCA exam? ❌ No, it wouldn't. While it's true that 1) smoking leads to cancer and 2) treatment is funded by taxpayers, these points don’t directly address the core issue of banning smoking in 🎪***public places*** 🎪 . The ideas, although valid, fail to connect properly with the argument in the first part of the sentence, and that’s why this answer wouldn’t score any marks. You may not realize it as a student, but a tutor should teach you to use a 6-step argument structure to frame your answers properly. ACCA is an educational organization, and there are specific rules to follow when structuring your responses. I don’t overload students with theory of adults education, but I do spend time teaching them practical life hacks like the "two-handed accountant" technique and banning the use of "and" in their answers to ensure their ideas actually score marks. This is exactly why you need a tutor to carefully review your attempts and guide you on what to adjust to make sure you're hitting the right points. 🎯 #ACCA #ACCAExamTips #ACCATutor #ACCALifehacks #FM #ACCAFM #AFM #ACCAAFM #PM #ACCAPM #APM #ACCAAPM #SBR #ACCASBR #FR #ACCAFR

Proud moment! Happy to announce that I have joined the esteemed Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA UK) as an Affiliate Member! What this membership means to me? Besides the explicit meaning of public finance, every penny that comes out of your purse (or corporate one) for a public transaction such as for purchasing something requires transparency. Because if you are going to pay for something, you need to ensure that that the transaction locks the purpose and intention. Without understanding the transparent mode of transaction, your spending would not be open to accountability. This is where, in a most narrowest sense, the public finance requires open transparency and accountability for a solidifying social contract between the state and its people; thus, the need to have mechanisms, compliances and methods and the CIPFA comes first in elevating public finance standards, transparency, and accountability. Looking forward to connecting those in the public finance to appreciate and unlock value and foster the highest standards in the profession. #CIPFA #PublicFinance #Leadership #CIMA

This time, I was anticipating a potential fail in FM (Financial Management). 📚 FM wasn't initially in my June plans. I applied only because a seat became available at the last minute for exam registration. Although I covered the entire syllabus, my downfall was in revision. I didn't review the final chapters thoroughly, simply glossing over them. It was either a lack of motivation, overconfidence, or perhaps a mix of both. I was almost expecting the word "fail" to shatter my overconfidence. However, passing both exams has given me extra motivation to forge ahead! 💪 Both PASSED! 🎉 And yes, this was achieved through self-study. 🧠💡 #accaexams #acca #selfstudy #perseverance #continuouslearning

🌟 Unlocking Success: The Power of ACCA SBL Exam Technique 🌟 Mastering exam techniques is pivotal, especially for the ACCA SBL (Strategic Business Leader) exam. I'm forfeiting my ACCA exemptions Why? It's simple; I'd prefer doing the papers at my desired pace. To do the professional level papers (SBL, SBR, APM & AFM ), one requires a level of understanding that can be achieved via attempting the papers externally. While I'll still be retaining 6 exemptions, I can now attempt FR, AA and FM. These 3 papers also allow me to appear for the RAP offered by Oxford Brookes university (however, the MOU expires in 2026, hence time is of the essence). What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them! #acca #finance
