We draw attention to the shocking discrepancies between men and women and the challenges in men's health this International Men's Day: - Australian men are twice as likely as women to die before 75 years from preventable causes. - Australian men are more than 3 times as likely as women to die from suicide. - Less than 1 in 30 Australian men eat enough fruit and vegetables. - Only 1 in 4 men are *not* overweight or obese. The theme of #InternationalMensDay2024 is "Positive Male Role Models". We believe we need more positive role models in men's preventative health. So we challenge you to play our International Men's Bingo game: - Look through the bingo card in the image below - Count your score and record it in the comment section - Tag a friend who you think needs a boost - Follow us for all the latest information on how pathology technology supports preventative health measures #MensHealth #InternationalMensDay #PreventativeHealth #Diagnostics #PathologyTechnology #WeArePTA Dean Whiting Justin Meredith Jeremy Tyson Colin Denver Simon Giuliano Vito Trifilo Domenic Stranieri

Dr. Sneha Wadhwani, a Women’s Health GP and the National Clinical Director for Evoca, shares her expert insights in our latest blog and video. Dr. Wadhwani discusses common but often unspoken issues like urinary incontinence, heavy menstrual bleeding, pain during intercourse, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). 📝 Read the blog and watch the video to learn more about how we can break down these barriers and take charge of our health: https://lnkd.in/dVXAYwwC Let’s work together to remove the stigma and empower all women to seek the care they deserve. 💪💕 #WomensHealthWeek #ShameAndStigma #WomensHealth #HealthAwareness #EvocaWomensHealth #Empowerment

What better way to celebrate Women’s Health Month than by making women’s physical and mental health a priority? Data show that women have different levels of risk and health care needs, but unfortunately, gender bias remains in health care. Women have a higher risk of stroke than men do. And nearly 80% of people living in the United States with osteoporosis are women. As physicians, we can advance women’s health by focusing on prevention and care management, forming trusted relationships with our patients, and collaborating among care teams and specialties to expand services—efforts that are already ingrained in Permanente Medicine’s core values. #NWHM #WomensHealth

Women's Health Week Day 4: Point of Difference Today, we highlight the unique aspects of women's health, focusing on conditions that affect women differently—such as heart health, migraines, and pelvic pain. Understanding these differences is crucial for effective prevention, treatment, and management. Women's experiences with these conditions can vary significantly from men's, influencing how symptoms are recognized and care is provided. 👩⚕️ Empower Yourself: Heart Health: Learn about the less recognised symptoms of heart disease in women. Migraines: Explore why women are disproportionately affected by migraines and what unique triggers may exist. Pelvic Pain: Understand the complex nature of pelvic pain and the importance of seeking specialised care. It’s your choice to be informed and your voice that can share knowledge and inspire change. Let’s use both to advocate for better health outcomes for women everywhere.
