International Pathology Series 🎉 On 25 November 2024, the PathWest Armadale Health Service Emergency Department (ED) Phlebotomy Service officially commenced, marking an exciting new chapter in patient care. This dedicated service is designed to support the Armadale Health Service ED by streamlining blood collection, reducing wait times, and enhancing diagnostic efficiency for patients and staff alike. The first patient serviced represents a significant milestone for PathWest and the Armadale Health Service ED, as it highlights our shared commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centred care. The on-site phlebotomy team will now handle urgent blood collections directly within the ED, which will supportmedical and nursing teams to focus more fully on immediate patient needs and complex cases. This service will soon be expanded to include cannulation services. This collaboration between PathWest and the Armadale Health Service ED is a testament to our dedication to continuous improvement and innovation in healthcare. By embedding phlebotomy and cannulation services within the ED, we aim to enhance both the patient experience and clinical outcomes, particularly during high-demand periods. Congratulations to everyone involved in launching this vital new service. #publicpathology #internationalpathologyday2024 #internationalpathologyseries2024 Public Pathology Australia East Metropolitan Health Service

1dThat’s an impressive milestone - what better way to fast track patient sample processing than to have the pathology collection on site! I’m trying to decide if pathology collection or laboratory processing would be the best place to start my career as I’ve just graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical science: pathology and laboratory medicine and am excited to continue to my post graduate education. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated! Kind regards Rhys
