MERRY CHRISTMAS & GOD JUL The Best Present is to be Present. Christmas is here, and with it, a lot of thoughts come I am making Christmas good enough. For many Christmas is full of stress trying to prepare everything perfectly, to buy the perfect Christmas present. Here is the thing I have learned. No matter if you have money or not. No Matter if your house is full of Christmas decorations. No matter if you put up the best food. No matter if you buy a lot of presents or things. The only important thing your kids or family want. Is for you to be present and show love. Christmas Presents and stuff they will forget, but you being there and spending time with them they will cherish and remember forever. Instead of looking at the phone, be with your loved ones. Instead of getting drunk show love. Instead of finding excuses find attention. Instead of escaping embrace the spirit of Christmas Choose this Christmas to be more Present and focus on taking time to be with your kids and loved ones. The best Present is to be Present! 🎅 Family Moments this Christmas 🎅 The magic of Christmas is all about family, traditions, and creating memories that last a lifetime. On Christmas Eve, I had the honour of playing Santa for my two young sons as we prepared for the big night. Reindeer food in hand, they were so excited to make sure Santa and his reindeer knew exactly where to land! Moments like these remind me what this season is truly about. It’s great seeing how much they enjoyed it and how excited they were. Taking a step back from the hustle and bustle of life, spending time with my family makes everything else fall into perspective. It’s these special, fleeting moments that motivate me to work hard and build a future where we can enjoy more of them. As we wind down from the festivities and come into a new year, I hope you’ve all had a chance to soak up some family time, share a few laughs, and make your own magical memories that you can cherish forever! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go and here’s a reminder that I would also love to remind everyone that : If you haven’t sent hand written cards this year, or planned the perfect gifts. If you haven’t started decorating your house or started baking cookies and cakes. If you haven’t started feeling the Christmas cheer or the perfect family, for a perfect festive photograph. It’s okay. If you don’t feel like watching your favourite Christmas movies, listening to Christmas classics and you can’t source the energy to be merry and bright. That’s perfectly okay too. You have your reasons. You don’t have to justify your celebrations because, No one should be measuring your ‘festive’. It must not become a badge of honour. Just hang on in there, finding any joy you can, in any little way. And remove guilt and pressure, from your already overloaded Christmas list. Because no matter how sparkly your advent, you can feel the sentiments of the season. Your way. And it’s time we start to normalise, that it’s okay we say no to Christmas tree and other different traditions that the world portrays how Christmas should be celebrated. Do what you want and can. If your house looks empty and dull without decors it’s okay. Because Jesus is the ONLY reason for this season . He is not bothered how you celebrate His birth. Big or small way you celebrate it doesn’t matter to Him. All He longs is you giving your heart to Him and that’s what really matters and that’s Christmas. Peace, love and goodwill to all. Some people might disagree, but the reality is that Christmas in the world evolved to be more about a country's cultural traditions and values than the actual birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus is still a part of the narrative, but he's not the central focus. What’s in Your Toolbox? The Christmas season is here—a time of joy but also stress, loneliness, and pressure to make everything “perfect.” You cannot experience peace and joy when you are expecting perfect. Let’s pause. What does this season really mean to you? Beyond the hustle, how do you want to feel this Christmas? For me, I rely on a peace and joy toolbox to stay grounded. It includes leaning on the Holy Spirit for comfort, turning to scripture for truth, practicing gratitude to shift my perspective, and pausing with breath prayers like “Come, Holy Spirit… Fill me with peace.” Worship music lifts my heart to Jesus, and my husband encourages me to stay focused on what truly matters. Christmas. It’s at once a simple and complex word. On the one hand when you say “Christmas” everyone knows what you mean, but at the same time Christmas means something different to everyone. There is often the pressure that Christmas must be a certain way - think Christmas films and glossy magazine spreads. There is an idealization of Christmas, an expectation that it must be a certain way to be “right”. It’s difficult, in this season of expectation and idealization to celebrate Christmas authentically, in a way that makes it meaningful for you. If you could celebrate Christmas exactly as you wanted, what, if anything would you do differently? How would you craft a Christmas that was authentic to you – even in just a small way? I have realized that I love the smell of Christmas, the cloves and cinnamon and the greenery. I love coming down early in the morning and breathing the scent of the Christmas tree; I love the soft light of the living room when the only light is that of the fairy lights on the Christmas tree. I sit quietly and just appreciate it. Wishing you well this Christmas, whatever that looks like to you.
