The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is #inspireinclusion . When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. 👉Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women. World-renowned feminist, journalist and activist, Gloria Steinem, reportedly once explained: "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights." On an organizational or group basis, there are many ways to ensure the needs, interests and aspirations of women and girls are valued and included. Organizations and groups can #InspireInclusion through action in areas such as: 🎯forging women's economic empowerment 🎯recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent 🎯supporting women and girls into leadership, decision-making, business 🎯designing and building infrastructure meeting the needs of women and girls 🎯helping women and girls make informed decisions about their health 🎯involving women and girls in sustainable agriculture and food security 🎯providing women and girls with access to quality education and training 🎯elevating women and girl's participation and achievement in sport 🎯promoting creative and artistic talent of women and girls 🎯addressing further areas supporting the advancement of women and girls #womenempoweringwomen #womeninbusiness #womenentrepreneurs #leaders #inclusioninitiatives https://lnkd.in/erpahae4

It's IWD 2024 today! This year's theme is "inspire inclusion" When we inspire the world to understand and value women's inclusion, we model a better world. When women themselves are inspired to be included, it gives us a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment. To make this a reality, when women are not present, we must ask: "if not, why not"... when women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice...when the treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action... Consciously, and regularly acting on these in every organisation, group, community, place of work, homes and beyond are the realistic means of truly achieving women inclusion. Again, this should be done irrespective of our diversity in race, age, ability, faith, and body image. Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity Yesterday, at a workshop aimed at strategizing empowerment and igniting possibilities I had the privilege of speaking to a group of young men and women about the importance of creating safe and healthy working spaces and environments for women. It's a topic that's close to my heart, and I believe it's crucial for our collective progress. We cannot afford to leave behind half of our population! Women are the backbone of our society, and it's time we recognize their value and worth. A man may build a house, but a woman makes a home - and that's exactly what we need more of in our workplaces and communities: a sense of belonging, nurturing, and care. By creating inclusive and supportive environments, we can unlock the full potential of women and girls, and in turn, create a more just and prosperous world for all. Let's break down the barriers and biases that hold them back, and instead, offer a helping hand and a listening ear.
