In November 1884 the Berlin Conference took place. Exactly 140 years later the world revisits this peculiar and impactful gathering. Now, we can safely say that the dust has settled. We know the story surrounding this past event, so let's use today to spark up a conversation around how Africa redefines and shapes itself moving forward. What can Africans and the rest of the world do TODAY to redress the flaws left from the Berlin Conference? History is important, but it's not everything. We think that it's better for us to use our time and resources to explore building a new, better-suited and more dynamic Africa for present and future generations, rather than revisit the trauma caused by the ghosts of the past. #140Years #FutureAfrica #UnitedAfrica #BerlinConference #CongoConference https://lnkd.in/dV9RRy4p

"How can we build peace in an increasingly hostile world?" As conflicts escalate and wars erupt globally, the question of peace becomes more urgent. Peace, a fragile state, is under constant threat. The real challenge is: how do we preserve what’s left, and how do we create more? On October 10th, the Institute of International Affairs at the University of Iceland (IIA) will host a peace conference featuring a distinguished panel of experts. This conference will explore the roles that individuals at various levels play in the peacebuilding process. We encourage anyone who can to join this important conversation to do so. Register here: https://lnkd.in/dKb_iKYK If peace is a collective effort, then we each have a part to play. The future is in our hands and the world is ours to shape. #PeaceBuilding #ConflictResolution #SustainablePeace

Mr. Him Rotha, Deputy Director of CCRS penned an article on “Cambodia-Malaysia Relations Reaches New Momentum After PM Manet’s Visit” published today in Cambodianess. He laid out how both countries should do more, not only to improve bilateral relations but also to work together more steadfastly on regional cooperation and brush aside their mutual suspicions in a turbulent geostrategic landscape.
