Did you know that the Arctic is warming at twice the global average rate? This rapid warming is causing significant changes in the region, including the melting of permafrost, loss of sea ice, and disruption of wildlife habitats. Today, make an attempt at educating yourself and others 🌎🗣 #ClimateChangeAwareness #EducateAndInform

"The warming is feeding the warming." 🔥 Massive wildfires in B.C. are causing our forests to emit more carbon than they absorb. But there’s hope on the horizon, with the reinstatement of Indigenous forest management. The key? "Flooding in the Sahara Desert?! 🌧️🏜️ It’s hard to believe, but extreme weather is reaching even the driest places on Earth. This rare event is a result of shifting climate patterns driven by global warming. Rising temperatures are altering the atmosphere, causing unexpected rainstorms in areas like the Sahara. Moisture from the Mediterranean or tropical regions sometimes gets trapped and dumped, leading to these surprising floods. It's a clear reminder of how unpredictable and interconnected our climate is For more such climate news, follow Maiti Labs credits: @dwnews via instagram #SaharaFloods #ClimateChange #GlobalWarming #NatureIsWild #DesertRain #ExtremeWeather #ClimateCrisis"

extreme weather events driven by accelerated arctic warming The consequences of extreme weather events (cold waves, prolonged heat waves, dry conditions and fires, stagnating low pressure areas with extreme rainfalls and indonations) are already extremly devastating (casualities of human lives, in agricultur, fauna and flora, buildings and infrastructure). For me the biggest question is, what are the contributors to acceleraded arctic warming?

Did you know the Arctic is warming 3-4x faster than the rest of the planet? This intensified warming is happening due to a combination of factors, including dark ocean water absorbing more heat as sea ice cover decreases (the so-called Albedo effect), as well as processes involving convection and water vapour. Climate change is already impacting the Arctic in several ways, which we will be uncovering along this journey. A powerful wind storm unleashed by Cyclone Chido has recently struck Mayotte, France, serving as another stark reminder of the growing impact of climate change. As extreme weather events like these become more frequent, it's crucial to stay informed, prepared, and advocate for action against climate change. #ClimateChange #CycloneChido #ExtremeWeather #ClimateAction #StaySafe #Mayotte #GlobalWarming #ProtectOurPlanet

Seal level rise and ocean warming threaten small islands through coastal erosion, flooding, marine ecosystem degradation etc posing both environmental and socioeconomic challenges which leads to economic instability and biodiversity loss and calling global and local actions for climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Last September, a melting glacier in Greenland triggered a massive landslide and a 650-foot tsunami. A recent study has now linked the unusual nine-day vibration that followed to a prolonged seiche in the fjord. These findings highlight the Arctic's rapid changes due to climate warming and suggest that extreme events like this could become more frequent in the future. 🌳 Reporting on the vulnerability of Tasmania’s tall eucalypt forests under a warming climate, ‘Giants Under Threat’, was released in March on the International Day of Forests. The report summarises recent studies that have found the tall eucalypt forest at Warra, within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, shows an unusually high sensitivity to temperature rise.
