We are growing significantly, and by the year 2030, there should be or have been initiated 140,000 housing units compared to the year 2014. This places high demands on construction actors. We launched Atelier A16 Rotterdam: Mobility as a flying wheel for change 🥂 This new Atelier aims to use research by design to imagine the future of the A16 and its environs. The key question is how the interaction between the Rotterdam ring road, more specifically the A16 and the city of Rotterdam, can contribute to a different view of infrastructure and environment as drivers of change. This research Atelier is on behalf of the City of Rotterdam Gemeente Rotterdam and in collaboration with Delft University of Technology TU Delft, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Rijkswaterstaat, and the Vereniging Deltametropool and is executed by design teams H+N+S Landscape Architects, West 8 and economic research bureau Decisio. 📝 UIC Barcelona School of Architecture and House Habitat have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting research in the development of sustainable, efficient and healthy housing. The agreement sets out the cooperation of both entities in the development and implementation of scientific research programmes and projects in bioclimatic architecture. “This agreement reinforces our commitment to research in sustainable architecture.
