How do sports ⚽️, satellites 🛰️, sustainability 🌱, and digitalization 🖥️ fit together? That’s what Niklas Noelle, Tamara Gsell, Manuel Bernhard, Luigi Gazzo, Marcus Chan and I explored in our CEMS - The Global Alliance in Management Education consulting project together with Thomas Crone from the European Space Agency - ESA. We researched how satellites can help the sports industry in sustainable and digital transformations🚀 With the Paris Summer Olympics now in full swing, gathering 15,000 athletes, 45,000 volunteers, and 15 million visitors from all over the world, this topic is even more relevant. Sports is both the victim and a contributor to the current climate crisis, so finding sustainable solutions—perhaps by using satellites—is crucial. 🛰️ Space technology can help in e.g. choosing optimal, eco-friendly locations for golf courses and ski slopes, managing turf moisture levels, and providing accurate performance tracking for nature-dependent sports like skiing and surfing. 💡Curious to learn more?
