Shadows aren't without stars, so why not let them shine? The primary objective of Shadow Careers is to upskill and develop youth from marginalised communities who do not have any previous work experience and who will find it very difficult to find permanent employment. It was once considered impossible to train students for only 12 weeks and expect them to perform and succeed alongside an experienced workforce. Three years later, 14 employment partners from leading business brands across South Africa, and more than 1000 youth placed in permanent jobs, and stories like Chelsea Mthembu and other former Shadow students, it makes you realise we should never underestimate the true potential of young people when they are given a chance to develop a sustainable career for themselves.   With our like-hearted partner, Outworx Contact Centre, Chelsea has thrived in less than a year, moving from a customer service agent to a business support specialist and part of the Outworx Recruitment team. The Australian Community Job Fair was created in 2011 out of a need for our members to find work on the E3 visa. Back then, it had only been in existence for five years so there was little information on the application process. Our Community Job Fair v1.0 connected our members to information as well as Allies and “Australian Friendly” Recruiters.
