With the aim of enhancing patient care at home, Universitätsmedizin Essen (UME) is partnering with the digital health platform Luscii - an OMRON Healthcare service to take a step toward their “Smart Hospital” strategy. 🏥 The goal is to enable patients to return home sooner and reduce visits to the hospital. Patients will use the Luscii app to input data📲 including symptoms and vital signs, while medical staff will monitor and interact with them using the platform's clinical engine. The 12-month pilot project will involve remote monitoring patients with pneumonia using Luscii's #SaMD which has the potential to optimise patient care. Prof. Dr. med. Jochen A. Withings has announced $22.5M in #funding support from the French government, part of the broader $56.6 billion France 2030 initiative, for its new project, Project DEEP (DEvice as a hEalth Prevention platform). The initiative focuses on leveraging #AI and innovative #medicaldevices to enhance early detection and prevention of #cardiometabolic diseases, such as #diabetes, #hypertension, atrial fibrillation (#AFib), and #neuropathies. These conditions are leading contributors to serious health complications, including strokes and heart attacks. Project DEEP will develop non-invasive devices to identify these diseases at earlier stages, aiming to reduce the strain on healthcare systems worldwide. Withings plans to integrate this innovation with its portfolio of connected health devices, such as smart scales, blood pressure monitors, and sleep analyzers.
