"SPAA" is the topic of our 7th episode of The Payments Trilogue, which we have published today and which you can find for example here on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/e-G3ke_G, or here on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eDQFd4Ff, but also on most other podcast platforms. In this episode, we discuss the SEPA Payment Account Access (SPAA) initiative, a collaborative effort between banks and third-party providers (TPPs) to create a new payment scheme in Europe. We explore the origins of SPAA, its development, the challenges faced in implementation, and the current status of the initiative. The conversation also touches on somewhat competing initiatives like the European Payments Initiative (EPI) and giroAPI, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and harmonization in the evolving landscape of open banking. More information about the EPC SPAA scheme can be found here: https://www.europeanpaymentscouncil.e... We hope you continue to enjoy our discussions and will subscribe to it on your preferred platform. Episode #8 will be a "Xmas Special" to be released in two weeks time right on Christmas' eve 24-Dec-2024.
