Re-posting this must watch interview a couple weeks back; with David Bohm of Apex Chamber of Commerce, hosted by local awesome community outreach JSpeaks
- link below
What a great interview!
The questions chosen were spot-on, David Bohm’s ethically based answers, perspectives, and business best practices truly resonate. David Bohm emphasis on upholding a business’s core mission and purpose while driving expected results—combined with an open mindset to deviations for positive outcomes—is something every organization should take to heart.
“Concentrate on the solution(s), not the problem.”
Key takeaways:
Transparency, empathy, growth, and most importantly, communication—especially through active listening.
I had to laugh at the “listening versus hearing” metaphor with marriage—so relatable and true!
i.e. “selective hearing”
This business approach is why organizations like the Apex Chamber of Commerce thrive. They operate as a transparent autonomous team; driven by ethical professionalism and commitment to bettering each other, as a team, and the awesome Town of Apex community.
This dedication to shared goals and collaboration really defines and fosters autonomy, with ensured repeatable success.
Well done! 👍🏻
As the Executive Director at Apex Chamber of Commerce, David Bohm prioritizes staying engaged in the communities where he lives and works. He not only finds meaningful opportunities to help people and organizations but also to encourage those that he helps to find purpose in serving others. David also prides himself on taking nonprofit organizations to higher levels by overseeing and specializing in leading teams, programs and exercises that encourage thought towards innovation, relevance and sustainability in a professional environment.
David is highly organized and driven towards success by focusing on goals. He has a speciality in navigating personalities to arrive at beneficial solutions, supporting a positive culture and creating an enhanced member/customer experience. David challenges everyone to commit to something and to do it with intention, purpose and strive for success in order to overcome the fear of failure and regret.

🔥 Celebrating a Legend: Lessons from the Dwyane Wade Statue Unveiling 🔥
The Dwyane Wade statue unveiling was an inspiring moment, honoring one of Miami’s greatest. It drew legends and fans together in celebration, but the social media response took an unexpected turn. In my latest blog, I explore how events like this highlight the importance of brand perception and proactive social listening—turning online feedback into opportunities for connection and growth.
For anyone in marketing or brand management, this is a valuable case study in handling public sentiment with care and creativity.

I’m incredibly excited to share a pivotal moment in Curiouz’s journey. At Curiouz, we’re building a platform that will redefine the furniture industry by combining design, sustainability, and innovation.
🚀 Since launching our beta just 2 months ago, here’s what we’ve achieved:
👉🏽we’ve onboarded an incredible network of designers and curators
👉🏽+400 furniture partners all around the world
👉🏽+5.000 unique pieces that celebrate craftsmanship, storytelling, and timeless design
👉🏽+10.000 followers in all social media channels
🛋️ These accomplishments are just the beginning of what we envision for Curiouz: a platform that inspire a more conscious way of living, rooted in the principles of circular economy—giving extraordinary vintage and contemporary pieces a new life, reducing waste, and reimagining the future of furniture.
🪽I’m thrilled to share that we’ve secured our first commitment in this fundraising round with Vera Elizabeth B. , through the Atomico Angel Programme. Vera’s trust and belief in our mission mark an exciting milestone in our funding journey, giving us even more momentum to build something extraordinary.
🙏🏽A special thank you goes to Fernando Cabral and Rudolphe Cabral from Djassi Africa, whose guidance as advisors has been transformational. As a Black female founder navigating an industry where less than 1% of opportunities are available to people like me, their empowerment and encouragement have been invaluable.
If you or someone you know is passionate about blending design, technology, and sustainability to create lasting change, let’s connect.
💬 Tag someone below who should know about Curiouz and let’s shape the future of conscious living and design—together!

We can see the signs of this already as young people become desensitised, homogenised and anaesthetised by social media and an early wealth accumulating imperative in terms of further study and career paths in order to achieve competitive status and power.

Today, we proudly announced the donation of the David Jones archive to the Powerhouse – preserving and amplifying our 186-year-old history and marking the beginning of a partnership with the 143-year-old museum.
The archive, which features a vast collection of preserved artefacts and documents dating back to the early 1800s, reveals several pieces that showcase the remarkable history and enduring impact we have had on Australian identity, thought and opinion.
The partnership will also see us invest into the next generation of Australian designers by establishing the David Jones and Powerhouse Australian Design Commission.
“David Jones shares a foundation of innovation and progress with the Powerhouse and a commitment to preserving and celebrating the stories that have helped shape our communities' cultural fabric," said our CEO, Scott Fyfe.
To celebrate the partnership, Powerhouse curators unveiled a temporary exhibition ‘Like No Other – Celebrating an Australian Icon’ at our Elizabeth Street Flagship in Sydney featuring a small collection of items from the archives.

HABARI GANI?!?
#Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility)
@adama_atl… The principle of Ujima reminds us that none of us can do this work alone. It’s about showing up for one another, rolling up our sleeves, and building something bigger than ourselves. That’s exactly what we’re doing at ADAMA—creating Atlanta’s first major arts destination that celebrates Black art and culture.
But we can’t do it without YOU.
Through our #Keepit100 Campaign, we’re asking our community to step up and help us reach this goal. With just $100 (or whatever you’re able to give), you’ll be a part of something truly transformational—not just for today but for generations to come.
Let’s work together. Let’s build together. Let’s win together. Give today at www.adamatl.org/keepit100 (#linkinbio) and let’s Keep it 100 for Ujima!
