So the care sector is traumatised and burnt out... but what do we do about it? In my conversation with Larry Shallenberger, he describes with unusual vulnerability and openness, how their organisation, strategically built on Trauma-Informed Care, weathered the pandemic and ensuing events to find that they were indeed burnt out and organisationally traumatised. He tells the story of how they are making sense of this and the roadmap they have developed to recovery and healing. It's a rare example of someone sharing not the 'this is how we recovered' story, but the 'this is how we are recovering' story. Full interview here: https://lnkd.in/em398Eki

In honor of National Recovery Month this September, let’s take a moment to recognize the strength and resilience of those on their recovery journey. Recovery is possible, and every step forward deserves to be celebrated. There are many ways to support someone in recovery: - Listen without judgment and offer encouragement. - Help them stay connected with their support network. - Educate yourself on the recovery process and be patient. - Celebrate their milestones, no matter how small. For those supporting someone in recovery, your role is so important, but it can also be challenging. You can support them by: - Offering a listening ear and emotional support. - Encouraging them to take time for self-care. - Helping them find their own support networks. - Letting them know they don’t have to carry the burden alone. Together, we can break the stigma, uplift each other, and offer hope. 💜 #RecoveryMonth #SupportRecovery #YouAreNotAlone #CelebrateRecovery

Advance Care Planning is essential in good Palliative & End of Life Care ❤️❤️❤️
We all choose the way we live our lives, and making decisions around death is just as important. Being prepared gives you more choice and control when the time comes, and can make it a more peaceful experience for your loved ones too. We passionately believe that we need to encourage and accelerate conversations around having a life-limiting illness, and the fact that all of us will die one day. We’ve brought this ethos to life in a thought-provoking new campaign which we are proud to see out in the world. View our campaign ➡️ https://ow.ly/csuR50T1GvL

We understand that the same event can affect people in vastly different ways. Our goal at JFCS is to provide care that empowers clients to rebuild and heal in their own unique ways. Let's recognize the importance of trauma-informed care. Beyond raising awareness and preventing future harm, it's crucial to prioritize the holistic well-being of survivors. This means creating spaces that validate their experiences, provide access to specialized support services, and foster a culture of empathy and understanding. By centering survivor healing and empowerment, we can pave the way for lasting change.
