All sales leaders have different hiring preferences. Some like candidates who have very specific industry experience... Others prefer someone outside of their industry. Someone who simply has a strong B2B track record. Outside sales experience preferred over inside sales experience... While B2C and B2B are two very different skill sets. Some sales leaders have time to train new hires on their industry specifics, while others do not have the bandwidth. Product training is usually standard across the board during onboarding, BUT what if the candidate already has experience selling it? Not to mention competitive salary / overall comp ranges, Across industry specialties & geographical cost of living differences...
