Ah, the joy of searching for entry-level jobs on LinkedIn! Nothing like seeing those magical words: "3-4 years of experience required." Yes, because who doesn't come out of college with a decade of industry expertise, a Nobel Prize, and a side gig as a Fortune 500 CEO? Clearly, all those unpaid internships and coffee-fetching duties were supposed to transform us into seasoned professionals overnight. It's almost as if these companies believe we should have started our careers in the womb. Bravo, LinkedIn job postings, for redefining the term "entry-level" and turning it into a delightful oxymoron! #corporate #entryleveljobs #hr #satire #experience #meme #2024 #jobs #jobs2024

The Entry-Level Job Paradox: Must Have Experience… But Also Be Brand New? Ah yes, the classic “Entry-Level Job” that mysteriously requires 3-5 years of experience. Make it make sense. 🤨 Should I have done an unpaid internship before I was legally allowed to work? Or maybe I just need a time machine so I can go back and meet these impossible requirements? Hiring managers, let’s be real—if a job is truly entry-level, let’s keep it that way. Skills can be taught. Work ethic and potential? That’s what really matters. Job seekers, keep applying anyway. If you meet most of the qualifications, go for it. Half the time, even the hiring manager doesn’t know exactly what they want. 😅 What’s the wildest "entry-level" requirement you’ve seen? #EntryLevelJobs #MakeItMakeSense #Hiring #Recruiting #JobSearchStruggles

Would love to hear everyone’s insights on this! Are companies hiring for real entry-level positions anymore or are internships/volunteering expected first? Now by entry-level I mean capable and knowledgeable in the field, but with 0 years of related work experience. Where an organization is hiring for the individual's skills, ability, and personality, with the intent on training and expanding on their current skill set. Although I know it is possible, I’m curious if there are more opportunities out there than I am seeing or if there has been a decline of organizations hiring real entry-level jobseekers. #jobs #entrylevel #hiring #training #opportunity #jobseeker #newgrad

What Does "Entry-Level" Really Mean These Days?🤔 One thing that's been on my mind lately: Why do entry-level jobs often require 1-2 years of experience? What's the real definition of "experience" in this context? Is it internships? Personal projects? Volunteer work- maybe even informal help we've provided to people within our network? How do recruiters calculate this experience, and what exactly qualifies? It's something I'd love to understand better. If you're a recruiter or hiring manager, could you enlighten me and others who are equally puzzled? Also, if entry-level positions are meant for those starting out, why not focus on skills, drive, and learning potential over previous work experience? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Let's open up this discussion and clear the air. 👇 #JobSearch #Entry LevelJobs #Recruitment #WorkExperience #CareerGrowth #FutureOfWork #JobHunt

Instead of asking directly for a job or a referral, try this 👇 So I might get some hate for this but trust me it can work. Many of us take the wrong approach when asking for referrals or sending cold emails/DMs to hundreds of companies and recruiters in hopes of getting a job. What you can try is to do this instead. 1️⃣ Most big companies do not hire full-time employees directly off campus but they do offer internships 2️⃣ Companies love to hire students/professionals for 4-6 month internships rather than a full-time job 3️⃣ This could be a win-win for both the recruiter and the individual as - The recruiter can assess whether the candidate is the right fit for the role. - The individual gains valuable experience, far better than being idle, and may receive a decent stipend to help manage living expenses. - The individual can also determine if the job role aligns with their long-term career interests. - If you've performed well at the end of the internship, you may be in a stronger position to negotiate with the recruiter, who would likely be pleased to continue the relationship. 4️⃣ This will help you get valuable CV points and can increase your chances for the next full-time job So next time, when you are not getting a full-time job, try to do internships rather than sit idle #job #hiring #opportunity #internship

Is it “too late” to land a good internship or full-time role? Should you be freaking out if you don’t have one yet? 🤔 Of course not! Companies are always hiring, and just because you haven’t secured an internship or full-time role yet doesn’t mean there aren’t any good ones left. Companies of different sizes, industries, and strategies all have different recruiting timelines for entry-level roles and internships. While it’s never too late, the earlier you can put in the time and effort to land a role, the better. This winter break, spend some time doing the following: ➡️ Tuning up your resume, cover letters, and LinkedIn profile. ➡️ Reaching out to folks inside and outside of your network. ➡️ Applying to roles and finding ways to get your foot in the door at your top companies. We help students each week with all of the above, and we provide tools to make it a breeze. To learn more, reach out to us! #KeepTheMo
