Merge joints enable designers to combine to create complex shapes and joint seamlessly. The merge joint highlights union. Merge joint allows you to merge two or more joints together, creating a single continuous mesh. It's akin to welding or fusing separate pieces into one. For merged joints, you might use this to blend 2 parts together seamlessly, like joining two pipes into one or connecting two panels at a corner. Intersection. This retains only the parts of objects that overlap. It's useful for creating joints where two objects intersect. Combine. Combining allows you to perform multiple joints at once. This can streamline the process when dealing with complex assemblies or intricate joints. Here's how our template libraries typically work. Different types of constraints cater to various joint requirements. Common types include aligns 2 components in space, ensuring they share a common point, line, or plane. Useful for aligning parts precisely. Ensures 2 surfaces or axes remain coincident. Helpful for attaching components with cylindrical or spherical features. Maintains a specific distance between two points or components. Useful for creating joints with specific clearances or offsets. Fixes the relative orientation or angle between two components. Handy for designing assemblies with hinges or rotating parts. Constraints restrict the degrees of freedom of each component within the assembly. For instance, a fully constrained assembly leaves no freedom for movement, while a partially constrained 1 might allow limited rotation or translation along certain axes. Designers can establish relationships between multiple components in an assembly, defining how they interact with each other. These relationships could be rigid, allowing no movement between components, or flexible, enabling controlled motion such as rotation or translation. Our merged joint template offers parametric capabilities, allowing designers to create assemblies with intelligent adjustable components. This means you can define parameters such as dimensions or angles and have the assembly update automatically as these parameters change. Our template ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements governing offshore structures such as ASME, DNS, API, ISO standards, etc. Designers can verify that joint connections meet the stringent safety, performance and environmental criteria stipulated by relevant authorities. Merge joint template libraries allow quick creation of complex joints, joints with common connection points, and joining separate joints together according to the requirements of each project.
