Do I have to collaborate with local and state leaders? 100% YES! We encourage you to build meaningful relationships with your city councilors, mayors, and state representatives. These leaders are often just as eager as you are to retain local talent and solve community problems. Even if you're shy or don't consider yourself a political person, know that local leaders want to know what you're doing and how they can work alongside you. They might even present your class with real-world problems to solve, turning your classroom into the town’s (or even state) solution center. And by working together, you and your students can tackle real issues that impact your community. 🚨 The deadline to join our fellowship is TODAY 🚨 Apply now to transform your classroom into a center of real-world problem-solving. Have you collaborated with local leaders before? What was your experience like?

🌟 Celebrating Real-Life Superheroes this Mother's Day 🌟 This upcoming Mother's Day, we're proud to shine a spotlight on the incredible work of our McGowan Fellows, who are not just leaders but real-life superheroes creating positive change. Meet Sahar Jamal, a McGowan Alumna whose journey embodies the spirit of ethical leadership. As an advocate for working mothers, Sahar understood the challenges many face upon returning to work after childbirth. She recognized the need for solutions that support mothers in balancing their professional and personal lives effectively. In response, she spearheaded the development of a small, discreet, battery-operated breast pump that refrigerates milk, addressing critical challenges faced by mothers in Kenya and beyond. Sahar's story is a testament to the impact of ethical leadership nurtured through our Fellowship Program. At the heart of this program are six guiding principles: Accountability, Character & Integrity, Courage, Empathy, Resilience, and Self-Awareness. These principles empower our Fellows to make integrity-based business decisions that create meaningful social impact. Through our program, Sahar discovered a community of like-minded leaders. Together, they are shaping a future where leadership is defined by principles and actions that benefit society at large. This Mother's Day, let's celebrate the superheroes among us—mothers, leaders, and changemakers like Sahar Jamal—who inspire us with their courage, compassion, and commitment to creating a better world. #MothersDay #EthicalLeadership #McGowanFellows #RealLifeSuperheroes To learn more delve into our Annual Report: "Listening to Learn" on page 16, featuring Sahar Jamal's recent interview: "An Interview with Sahar Jamal: Finding Fellows." https://lnkd.in/gnbK8VBR

Teacher Appreciation Day is significant for honoring educators who nurture the minds of future leaders. It's a day to express gratitude towards teachers for their positive impact on students' including future leaders' lives. They are defined by emotional intelligence, adaptability, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning and growth. These qualities enable them to manage their own emotions, embrace change, see the bigger picture, and lead effectively through transformation.
On Teacher Appreciation Day, we honor the educators nurturing the minds of future leaders in classrooms across America. Before the bell rings, don’t forget to thank a teacher who has left a lasting, positive impact on you or your child’s life.
