Exciting news for #entrepreneurs and #dreamers in Northeastern Pennsylvania! A brand-new Resource Guide for starting and growing a business has just been launched, thanks to a collaboration between Penn's Northeast, The Willary Foundation, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Who do you hang out with? According to Rohn's theory, the five people you spend the most time with shape who you are. Look around you right now. How can you relate to that, and what do you see? You may interact with many individuals; they are what you call acquaintances. Research in social psychology has shown that the people we surround ourselves with can significantly influence our beliefs, behaviours, and outcomes. The phenomenon of "social contagion" suggests that traits, attitudes, and even skills can spread through social networks. Studies have found that the people we associate with can influence our happiness, obesity, smoking habits, and even intelligence. There is evidence that smartness or intelligence can be "contagious." Spending time with intellectually engaged and cognitively active individuals can stimulate our thinking, expose us to new ideas, and encourage us to develop our cognitive abilities. Conversely, spending time with less intellectually curious or stimulating people may have the opposite effect. Just look at what's happened on the streets of the UK in the last week. We have had riots and, yesterday, peaceful protests!
