We're thrilled to announce that Grow America has received a $50 million New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation from the U.S. Department of the Treasury! 🎉 This allocation is part of a larger $5 billion in NMTCs awarded to 104 Community Development Entities (CDEs) across 35 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Selected from a pool of 196 applicants requesting a total of $14.7 billion. Historically, the #NMTC Program has generated $8 of private investment for every $1 invested by the federal government. To date, over $63.6 billion in investments have been deployed in low-income communities, creating or retaining more than 894,000 jobs and constructing or rehabilitating nearly 259.5 million square feet of commercial real estate. When we began unpacking the symptoms that contribute to Wyoming's economic challenges, several key areas emerged as barriers. To address these barriers, the WBC is leading workstreams focused on understanding the challenges so we can work collaboratively to solve them. Current workstreams are investigating issues surrounding Wyoming's workforce, housing, economic complexity, energy, grants, research and development, and entrepreneurship. Exciting news! The Delta Regional Authority has awarded over $500,000 to four communities in Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee through the Strategic Planning Program. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this funding is part of the Investing in America agenda, working to rebuild our economy from the ground up! The DRA's Strategic Planning Program empowers communities in the Delta region by fostering problem-solving, resilience, and partnerships! Through grants from $25,000 to $150,000, capacity-strained areas receive vital resources to create roadmaps for economic growth, addressing public infrastructure, workforce pipelines and small business development.
