🚀New Grand Solution investment 🚀 We're thrilled to announce a groundbreaking investment by Innovation Fund Denmark, totaling nearly 30 million DKK, in a new pioneering public-private collaboration. The vision? To empower healthcare professionals with real-time insights, enabling proactive intervention and reducing the incidence of complications, ultimately enhancing patient safety in post-operative care and management of acute medical conditions. 🏥 The project will leverage already established technologies and further develop T&W Engineering A/Ss patient-friendly #earEEG monitoring device with new sensors to record vital parameters directly from the ear, coupled with an intelligent interpretation system, the WARD 24/7 WARD-system. 🛡️ Professor Eske Kvanner Aasvang from Rigshospitalet and Professor Christian Meyhoff from Bispebjerg Hospital, the driving forces behind the clinical research, emphasize the importance of continuous monitoring in improving patient outcomes: “With innovative multimodal measurements from the ear, the project aims to enhance the current monitoring systems, providing better insights into patients' physiological status. Invention and innovation to impact: The wonderful Dr. David Albert, a pioneering 'Grandfather' of digital health shared key insights from his 40-year career in healthcare innovation at NextMed Health 2023 Dr. Dave recounts his journey, starting at Duke University where one of his early breakthroughs was a wrist-based heart monitor, which laid the foundation for more advanced innovations like the smartphone-enabled ECG device from AliveCor. AliveCor, founded in 2011, now serves millions of users, capturing over a million ECGs weekly and accumulating more than 200 million ECGs in total. Dave emphasized that AliveCor's success is built on three pillars: clinical validation, continuous research, and innovation. This commitment has led to partnerships with major institutions like Mayo Clinic, GE Healthcare, and Qualcomm. He also stressed the importance of economic innovation in healthcare, explaining how AliveCor’s technology has helped reduce emergency visits and improve patient outcomes. 🎉 Exciting news from Assistive Technology Development! They have been awarded $306,872 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), specifically the National Institutes of Health and the NIH National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. This funding will support the development of a lightweight robotic telerehabilitation device with integrated blood flow restriction for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. This innovative device aims to reduce recovery costs and improve outcomes for patients undergoing knee surgeries by providing motorized exercise modes and data sharing capabilities. #SBIR #STTR #Innovation 💡 The project will focus on creating a cost-effective device that enhances low-load exercise benefits while reducing clinic visits and supporting patients in rural areas. The research will include pilot usability studies with physical therapists and patients recovering from ligament reconstruction. The award, classified as a project grant, will last for 12 months, starting on September 1, 2024, and ending on August 31, 2025. Today, meet Jorge Bondia from AMIC Health! 💡 AMIC Health is a digital ecosystem for the healthcare professional to educate children with type 1 diabetes through safe experimentation with gamified diabetes simulators and quantify effectiveness. 👥 AMIC Health spins off from the Artificial Pancreas and Diabetes Technology group at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), led by Prof. Bondia, after two decades of research devoted to technology for type 1 diabetes. 📰 New Research Publication: EvoWalk Enhances Telerehabilitation for MS Patients 📢 We are thrilled to announce the publication of a new study titled "Feasibility of Telerehabilitation Monitored by a Wearable Device in Individuals with Multiple Sclerosis," in the International Journal of MS Care. 📈 The study explored the use of EvoWalk in a telerehabilitation setting for patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). All 11 patients demonstrated a remarkable 100% adherence rate and many had clinical improvements on various measures. These results showcase the feasibility and effectiveness of remote therapeutic monitoring using EvoWalk. Just look at the amazing improvements in the 7 week span of patients using EvoWalk in the figure below 🤖 EvoWalk’s AI-powered technology provided real-time movement analysis and personalized muscle activation, enabling clinicians to deliver high-quality, individualized therapy to patients without relying on in-person visits.
