Oman is boosting industrial jobseekers' skills! Oman’s Ministry of Labour (MoL), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation (MoHERI), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), and the Academy of Industrial Innovation, has launched a groundbreaking agreement. This initiative aims to empower jobseekers with professional diplomas in the industrial sector, aligning their skills with current market demands. Led by Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidi and H.E. Dr. Mona bint Salem al Jardaniyah, Undersecretary for Vocational Training at MoHERI, this collaboration will introduce a comprehensive training program. It merges theoretical knowledge from diplomas with practical industry requirements through classroom sessions and extensive on-the-job training in manufacturing settings. With 100,000 jobseekers, 80,000 lacking work experience, specialized committees across key sectors like tourism, education, and transport are ensuring tailored training meets market needs. This effort promises to bridge skills gaps and facilitate smoother transitions into Oman’s thriving industrial job market. Pearson BTEC qualifications are crafted in collaboration with employers, professional bodies, and higher education experts to ensure course content remains industry-relevant and globally recognized. This collaborative approach is crucial in bridging the gap between education and employment, ensuring a seamless transition into the workforce. #Oman #IndustrialSkills #JobSeekers #VocationalTraining #SkillDevelopment Source: Economy Middle East

Many teaching positions in the UAE require candidates to have UAE-specific experience. However, if a teacher demonstrates effectiveness in their home country, why can't they teach here? Effective teaching principles are universal. A skilled teacher from abroad can bring fresh perspectives and innovative methods to UAE classrooms. Insisting on UAE experience restricts the talent pool and overlooks qualified educators eager to contribute. We should value global teaching experience and be open to teachers adapting to the UAE context. By doing so, we can attract diverse and talented educators who can significantly impact our students.

Why is UAE Teaching Experience Not Enough? 🤔 I've noticed a recurring trend in recruitment: even with 1-2 years of teaching experience in the UAE, many recruiters still insist on 2+ years of experience specifically with American or British curricula. This raises some questions: Isn't UAE teaching experience, which often involves adapting to diverse classrooms and educational standards, valuable in itself? Shouldn't skills, adaptability, and teaching effectiveness outweigh curriculum-specific experience? I'd love to hear your thoughts—teachers, recruiters, and education leaders. Is this requirement justified, or is it a barrier that's holding back talented educators? Let’s discuss! 👇
