While Marketing is primarily focused on driving sales and promoting products or services, Public Relations centers around managing a company's reputation and ensuring positive relationships with the public. For example, both PR and Marketing gather customer feedback—but to different ends. Marketing uses it to refine sales strategies and understand product demand, while PR uses it to ensure customer satisfaction and address any dissatisfaction quickly. Ultimately, Marketing drives revenue, while PR builds trust. Both are essential, but their roles in shaping a brand’s success are unique.

After nearly five years leading global public relations and communications for an emerging technology company, where I’ve been challenged in all kinds of new, crazy ways, I’m closing this chapter and looking for my next exciting adventure. I’m most proud of two things: Every day we advocated for and educated businesses about how to keep people safe in the digital world. Also, talented people on my team were recognized and promoted for their value, contributions and excellence, and one person just moved internationally, a win-win for all.
