Time is flying, and November is almost over—it feels like it was just the first of the month! As we gear up for the holidays and reflect on 2024, many of us may be “waiting” for January 1 to set new resolutions and goals. But nothing can be built without a foundation and clear plans. Let’s use the rest of November to set the tone, stage, and standards for what we want in 2025. To build the life we want, we can’t wait for January. If we wait, we’ll find ourselves in the same cycle of false starts, as we’ve seen in previous years. Instead, let’s use “wrapping up 2024” as an opportunity to write our plans and start building the foundation for the life we’re aiming for in 2025. The work starts now, not later.

Reflecting on 5 Months at The Rising Sun What a journey it has been since we took on The Rising Sun! As we celebrate my business partner Bob’s first birthday at the pub, it’s the perfect time to reflect on how far we’ve come. The last five months have been a whirlwind of hard work and lessons learned in an unforgiving market. From day one, it was clear this was no small task—we inherited a business weighed down by 12 years of neglect and a string of five landlords. But with consistency, solid communication, and the relentless dedication of Bob and our amazing team, we’ve turned things around. When we started, we were bringing in just £3k a week. Today, we’ve smashed our year-end target, surpassing £10k per week—a milestone that felt almost impossible just a few months ago. This achievement isn’t just about numbers; it’s a testament to teamwork, grit, and a shared vision for what The Rising Sun can be. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re ready to push ourselves even further: ✨ Launching delivery services to meet growing demand. 🍳 Expanding daytime trade with breakfast offerings. 💸 Maintaining cost efficiency and driving profits, so we can reinvest in our team and operations to deliver the best experience Herne Bay has to offer. In this business, you have to step outside your comfort zone every day. Social media content, building relationships with local businesses, and above all, being accessible and present for your customers—these are the pillars that drive success.
