Bopper Battle! This activity is great to work on postural stability, bilateral coordination and visual vestibular integration (VVI)! Stabilize a yoga ball in a tire (pillows can work too), grab a soft bopper or bat, and swing at a target! Decrease the postural challenge by kneeling on a stable surface or decrease the VVI challenge by choosing a target that doesn’t swing. This game is also a fun peer activity, with both people on their high knees and hitting boppers to knock each other off. Make sure there are lots of pillows around for safety and have fun! Hip internal rotation is crucial for pain-free powerful kicks, yet fighters with hip pain will often turn to the hip-circle. Here are my thoughts on why it is a poor choice. If you are balancing a Muay Thai or BJJ and a career that involves much sitting it is an even worse choice. A simple solution and better intervention, in my opinion, is to try a pigeon stretch 3-4 sets at 45 sec a leg, then bracing the abdominal wall while crushing a yoga block.

How are you easing your summertime stressors? 🌞 For me, it's all about #'s 4, 8 & 9! I never go anywhere without my H2O 💧, staying hydrated is key. I also stick to a strict bedtime and wake-up routine, my goal is 7 hours of sleep 🛏️ every night. My go-to activity? Pilates! 🧘♀️ I try to get in at least 3 sessions a week.
