This latest work delves into the limitations of one of the most popular analytical methods for microplastics identification and sizing. By comparing their findings with the EU’s upcoming regulations, it’s clear that a radical shift in microplastics evaluation is necessary to ensure precise and frequent mass measurements of drinking water across Europe. It currently takes 5 hours to analyze particles filtered from just 1 liter of water. To meet the EU’s recommendation of analyzing min. 1000 liters per campaign, a single micro Raman device would need 5000 hours of non stop operation! That’s a significant amount of time, resources … and money.

Trying to look at air toxic compounds at concentrations below 20ppt? Trying to find a solution for monitoring ethylene oxide in air? Check out the excellent talk from my colleague Ericka Hachmeister which is available on demand.
Method TO-15A, for the monitoring of air toxics, was released by the US EPA in 2020 and lowers the required method detection limit for all compounds covered by the method to 20 ppt. This new, lower detection limit level challenges every aspect of the sampling and analysis process, especially blank levels. View this on-demand presentation, created in collaboration with Markes International and learn how the use of the UNITY-CIA Advantage-xr, a canister autosampler and pre-concentrator, combined with Kori-xr for innovative water removal, enables a robust analysis at a range of humidities, in accordance with US EPA Method TO-15A. #gcms #environmentalscience #vocs https://lnkd.in/gx2frNVz

As a follow up of the recently published delta T/P method used to monitor sublimation flow during primary drying of freeze drying, we just published a short paper showing that it is a well possible to detect ice nucleation/crystallization by using the shelf inlet/outlet delta T signal. As one just need shelf temperature inlet and outlet, it is basically possible in all quite recent large scale freeze drier. The information is hidden like a sleeping beauty in the memories of our commercial freeze driers. Just awaken it !
Rapid communication: A simple, non-invasive, cost-effective technique to monitor ice nucleation in GMP freeze-drying.
