🚨 New Book Launch - November 1st! 🚨 📖 "Germany: From Boom to Gloom" explores a critical question: Is Germany once again the 'sick man' of Europe? After a decade of prosperity, Germany is facing a perfect storm: economic stagnation, high energy costs, declining industry, and mounting pressure on its iconic car manufacturers from Chinese EVs. And let's not forget the demographic time bomb on the horizon. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Germany still boasts a strong labor market, fiscal strength, and world-class "Mittelstand" companies leading global innovation. In my new book, I interview leading experts to unpack what led to this crisis—and, more importantly, how Germany can chart a path to recovery. #Germany #Fromboomtogloom #EU

It is not very common that business leaders promote participation in a political election. However, we see posts of this kind right now – and this is the right thing to do. Because in the upcoming European elections nothing less than our democratic core values are at stake. Europe as we know and love is at stake. And this is true from different perspectives: As a human being, I was fortunate enough to travel many countries of the world and also to live in different places for some time. Therefore, for me, values like openness, diversity and tolerance are self-evident. At the same time, I know first-hand how precious these values are and how important it is to protect them – especially when extremists and populists are trying to destroy them. As a business leader, I also know that hate, xenophobia and exclusion are economic risks. Germany already lacks skilled workers today and without immigration this problem will grow in the coming years. Thus, openness and diversity do not only matter to me personally – they are essential for the economic success of our country and of our continent. Now the question is: In what kind of Europe do you want to live and work? For us at Daimler Truck AG the answer is clear: In a Europe based on democratic core values like diversity, openness, and tolerance. Together with more than 30 companies we formed the alliance “We stand for values” to encourage you: Exercise your right to vote on 9th of June – and vote for the Europe you want to live and work in!

The annual trend in terms of economic development is worrying. Germany is in last place in 2024 and 2025! It would be time for real structural changes. Unfortunately, it does not look like that at all. Not much can be expected from the political side. The change can only come from people, companies and new technology.

After living in Germany for over 8 years, I’ve gained a deeper connection to this country. My son was born here, and his future is intertwined with the future of Germany. That gives me an even stronger reason to reflect on what this day means, not just for me, but for the generations to come. When I was growing up, access to information was limited, but two events from the year I was born always stood out to me: the fall of the Berlin Wall and the debut of The Simpsons. I don’t know why both still resonate with me to this day 😅. On German Unity Day, I reflect on the monumental event that led to the creation and eventual demolition of the wall, the symbol it represented, and how Germany slowly but steadily became whole again. The resilience and determination to rebuild not just the country, but also a sense of national identity, are remarkable. I was always fascinated by Germany’s industrial powerhouse. The country’s focus on science and technology inspiring—and maybe that’s part of why I love living here (though I could do without the bureaucracy! 😄). However, unity is about more than just economic strength. Today, we see new walls being built—virtual walls of division, intolerance, and political polarization. I never cared much for politics, but I now realize how much it reflects the values of a society. At this pace, hatred and division could prevent Germany from continuing its progress. In a world that’s becoming increasingly multicultural, the future will be shaped by how we embrace diversity and foster tolerance. My son, like many children today, holds multiple nationalities. It makes me wonder: What kind of world are we building for them? The Germany that rose from the fall of the Berlin Wall is a symbol of hope, resilience, and collaboration. Between that historic moment and today’s virtual walls, I’ve grown up, evolved, and shaped the person I am today. Let’s not go back. Let’s continue moving forward, together. 1moWorld, Beware!!! When Putin “gets green light" to occupy "his part" of the Arctic, Trump is "forced" to respond, with a total military occupation of Greenland, and then there is no way back for the present world order. He can also make it look a little "prettier", by paying for Greenland with more borrowed USD, which then becomes totally worthless, when Musk changes the US national currency to Dogecoin, to reset the U.S. National Debt Clock to zero, using the most powerful MAGA tool. I would therefore not hesitate to sell all my USD, and get rid of all my USD Debtors, if I had any. But NOT for CRYPTO!
