Here's an updated breakdown for calculating your expenses to maximize your per diem benefits:    Updated Example for Calculating Long-Term TDY Lodging Costs:  - Approved Lodging Per Diem Rate: $86/night  - Lodging Cost: $525/week  - Stay Duration: 21 nights  - One-Time Cleaning Fee: $200    Detailed Computation:  1. Weekly Rate Breakdown: $525 / 7 days = $75 per night  2. Cleaning Fee Allocation: $200 / 21 days = approximately $9.52 per night  3. Total Daily Rate: $75 (base rate) + $9.52 (cleaning fee) = $84.52 per night    Reimbursement Analysis:  With a total computed rate of $84.52 per night against an authorized per diem of $86, the service member is fully reimbursed the calculated rate, staying within the per diem limit.    Additional Reimbursable Expenses:  - Maid/Cleaning Fees  - Cable TV  - Parking for RV use  - Necessary furniture rental  - Time-share exchange fees at the TDY location (note: annual maintenance fees are not reimbursable)    Guidance for Approving Officials:  Recognize that alternative lodging solutions like Billets provide practical, compliant options under JTR guidelines.
