Mineral exploration company Gibb River Diamonds has entered Namibia’s uranium sector by acquiring strategic prospects in the Erongo district. The newly acquired assets include the Erongo project spanning 48 km2 and the Kunene project covering 1,780 km2, secured through six exclusive prospecting licenses. The acquisition follows an on-ground assessment made by the company earlier this year. Within the Erongo project, Gibb River Diamonds is targeting specific areas such as EPL9924 and EPL10131, aiming for a northerly extension to uranium exploration company Elevate Uranium’s Koppies Resource, which is truncated by Gibb River's permit boundary. ATHA Energy Corp (CSE:SASK, OTCQB:SASKF) announced it has completed its 2024 Exploration Program at its Angilak uranium project in Nunavut, which hosts the Lac 50 uranium Deposit. The “highly successful” program was carried out from early June to late August and involved 25 diamond drill holes totalling about 10,051 meters. ATHA highlighted that it achieved all of the program’s objectives, including expanding the historic footprint of mineralization along the Lac 50 trend and identifying new parallel mineralized trends called the Lac 48, Lac 52, and Lac 54 Trends. GoviEx Uranium Inc (TSX-V:GXU, OTCQX:GVXXF) has secured an option to acquire a 51% interest in the Lundazi exploration license in Zambia. The Lundazi License spans 817.9 square kilometers and is recognized for its uranium-rich formations. It is part of a strategy to increase the exploration footprint within Zambia, particularly in regions known for Karoo Supergroup sandstone deposits. The Lundazi area is said to have geological similarities to GoviEx's Muntanga project, where the company is progressing with a feasibility study expected later this year. 🇨🇮The Council of Ministers adopts the establishment of the Salon International des Ressources Extractives et Energétiques (SIREXE) At its meeting on April 17, 2023, the Council of Ministers, under the supervision of the Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, took a major decision by approving the creation of the Salon International des Ressources Extractives et Energétiques (SIREXE). This ambitious and innovative initiative aims to consolidate recent advances in Côte d'Ivoire's natural resources sector, notably the significant discoveries of oil and gas deposits. SIREXE, a leading promotional platform, will establish itself as a must-attend event for national and international players in the sector. It will be held every two years, over a period of five consecutive days, offering a space conducive to exchange, collaboration, and the development of investment opportunities. The inaugural edition of SIREXE is scheduled from November 27 to December 2, 2024, at the prestigious Parc d'Exposition in Abidjan.
