A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song. We are not what we know but what we are willing to learn. Good people are good because they've come to wisdom through failure. By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it. The wisdom and understanding you've gained are not just for you to keep but to share. By illuminating the path for others, you help create a brighter, more informed world. When you share your knowledge, you empower others to grow, innovate, and contribute, fostering a community where everyone can thrive. Let your knowledge be a beacon that lights the way for others, spreading enlightenment and fostering collective progress. Ps: The first problem for all of us, men and women, is not to learn, but to unlearn. #Iamtheblessing

Innovative ideas and initiatives, no matter how small, have the potential to ripple outwards, sparking larger movements and inspiring others to act. Moreover, initiatives and innovative ideas show the power of human creativity and resilience. They embody the belief that change is possible and that each person can contribute to a collective effort. By focusing on actionable steps, we can create a culture of active participation and progress. In today’s rapidly changing world, we often find ourselves caught between the narratives of the past and the future. But one thing is clear: 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈. In this post, I explore the vital role that intergenerational cooperation plays in building a resilient society, and why 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 is more relevant than ever. A special thanks to Ingrid Strümke those who put this important issue on today's agenda! #LeadershipDevelopment #LifelongLearning #GenerationalWisdom #CulturalHeritage #SharedWisdom #SocietyBuilding #Mentorship #OlderGeneration #YoungLeaders #SocialProgress #PositiveChange #CommunityBuilding

This week we're re-reading "How to Tell Real Stories About Impact" by Annie Neimand, PhD in Stanford Social Innovation Review—such an insightful piece challenging traditional storytelling norms. Check it out if you haven't yet. 3 takeaways we're taking to heart: 1. Challenging traditional narratives: It's time to move beyond simplistic storytelling formulas and delve deeper into the complexity of social issues. Let's rethink how we tell stories to create more authentic and engaging narratives. 2. The power of collective action: Real change often stems from collective efforts rather than individual heroism. Let's highlight the importance of collaboration and community in our storytelling to showcase the impact of collective action. 3. Committing to ethical storytelling: As storytellers, we have a responsibility to represent all communities with dignity and respect. Let's prioritize ethical storytelling practices that center the voices and experiences of those directly affected by injustice.

What sustains the world's young people who are actively working to make the world better? It's not money; it's pursuing a purpose. Despite financial stress and uncertainty, "life satisfaction among young changemakers is strikingly high. On a scale of 0 to 10, they rank at a 7. This is considerably higher than the global average of 5.6. In fact, if changemakers were a country, they would rank 14th in the world (out of 96 surveyed countries), between Canada and Ireland." This is a study by The Possibilists, a global alliance of the world’s largest youth social innovation networks who reach hundreds of thousands of young people. They "envision a global support ecosystem that is aligned around a data-driven understanding of the needs of young changemakers and co-creates the best possible conditions for them and their teams to thrive and to deepen or scale their impact." Pursuers of happiness pursue purpose! https://lnkd.in/gdCX3YF8

"Who are you, but without a name, job, social circle, family or comparisons?" I sat in the interview room, caught off guard by the question that awaited me. In a world where titles and our role in society often define us, relying on these, I found my identity in the impact I create. At my core, I'm simply an organism—an animal shaped over eons from bacterial origins. - but fret not, this isn’t a biology lecture. - I’m the kind of person to advocate importance of adequate sleep, but readily succumb to a current fixation (last night it was charge parity violation). - I'm the silent revolution in classrooms I’ve helped build, the unspoken promise in the meals I’ve provided. My identity is etched in the smiles of children whose futures I’ve brightened. - I'm the brew of discourse, transforming sips into movements, stirring society with each pour. What ignites me? Collaboration. Let's connect and work together to create a more equitable and sustainable today. #environmentalism #financialempowerment #sustainability #youth #podcasthost #advocate #equity P.S. Should your curiosity be piqued about the initiatives mentioned, don’t hesitate to engage in conversation or reach out for a connection!

Great piece about "How to Tell Real Stories About Impact" in Stanford Social Innovation Review by Annie Neimand, PhD "Stories of impact should show how organizations are part of a larger movement ecosystem working with other organizations and movement actors to transform systems and culture through their unique contributions. These stories will feature multiple characters with different backgrounds, interests, roles, and perspectives, all working together to address an issue. When we tell these stories over and over, we can create a new, more accurate narrative of change through collective action." https://lnkd.in/gEb7CUxp
