This article highlights a community Wind turbines positive impact on a community, but it can just as easily be Solar PV and/or storage. The flow of renewable energy revenue into a community through Transition group like TBG and community energy co-ops like Egni Coop and Awel Co-op via AWEL AMAN TAWE cannot be understated. This is the vision I personally have for a renewable energy legacy, and thankfully I found a home with a developer and investor in commercial or utility scale projects, Winfield Energy UK, who are committed to ensuring our projects are positive for the communities they're built in and for. These assets will leave at least a 30-40 year notch in local and national history, signaling a shift from energy generators being in power, to energy generators being a powerful catalyst for positive community change. Support your local Renewable Energy Co-op, and if you don't have one...here's your cue to start one. (But you probably do, there's lots of wonderful people out there that feel the same way. In October 2023, the Private Equity Impact team at Nuveen invested $25M in Perch Energy (Perch) to drive growth of community solar and expand access to clean energy. Expanding on this initiative, the team partnered with Nuveen Affordable Housing to bring Perch’s renewable energy options to renters, homeowners, and business in Nuveen buildings. Viridian Solar and Claymore Homes Extend Partnership Viridian Solar and Claymore Homes, a prominent housebuilder based in Mintlaw, Aberdeen, are pleased to announce the extension of their group deal agreement which will continue until 2027. Under this renewed agreement, Claymore Homes will install Clearline fusion roof integrated solar and the award winning ArcBox DC connector safety enclosure into their new housing developments. Completing 55-60 plots per year, Claymore Homes is committed to enhancing the energy efficiency and sustainability of its projects. John Irons, Country Manager for Viridian Solar said: "We have been partnering with Claymore Homes since 2019 and I am delighted we have extended our partnership which ensures Clearline fusion roof integrated solar is installed where PV is required and now also includes the ArcBox. This extension is a testament to Claymore Homes' ongoing commitment to delivering energy efficient homes." Colin Anthony, Joint Managing Director at Claymore Homes said: "This agreement allows us to maintain our focus on sustainability, continuing to install Clearline fusion as well as innovative products like ArcBox ensures that our developments meet the highest standards in solar safety whilst maximising energy efficiency."

We are excited to share Kilonewton’s integral role in the Escalante Solar project, a landmark achievement in the renewable energy sector. In collaboration with Origis Energy, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, and Gridworks, we have transformed the former 253-MWac, coal-fired Escalante Station into a 200 MWac solar powerhouse, providing clean, carbon-free electricity to over 63,000 homes in New Mexico. Escalante Solar, which began generating electricity on June 1, 2024, is a significant step forward in meeting Tri-State’s Responsible Energy Plan and the goals set by New Mexico’s Energy Transition Act. This project supports Tri-State’s decarbonization objectives and contributes to a sustainable and eco-friendly future. At Kilonewton, we played a critical role in the Escalante Solar project by providing our specialized SiTE™ Optimization Services. Our involvement spanned from site selection to final construction, ensuring the project was executed efficiently and effectively. We conducted early-stage evaluations for optimal site selection, supported site build evaluation, budgeting, permitting, and quoting processes. We also delivered detailed civil and structural engineering plans, including grading and design optimization, and oversaw the final design and construction phases. We developed detailed PV Array Grading Plans, Preliminary and Detailed Pile/Foundation Designs, and provided comprehensive Project Management Services. These technical solutions were vital in meeting project goals, adhering to timelines, and ensuring high-quality execution. This project not only brings significant economic benefits to McKinley County, contributing approximately $7.1 million in taxes to the county and $2.4 million to the local school district over its lifespan, but also created an estimated 400 jobs during construction and ongoing operational roles. We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Origis Energy, Tri-State, and Gridworks and are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the clean energy landscape. EUROPE’S LARGEST FLOATING SOLAR PLANT is under construction Today, Vincent, Ciel & Terre's Project manager for Ilots Blandin floating solar project, the biggest in Europe, introduces the features of the site and plant. “Ilots Blandin floating photovoltaic project is spread over six reservoirs. In other words six islands covering an area of 45.5 hectares. The project's biggest challenge is its sheer volume. EUROPE’S LARGEST FLOATING SOLAR PLANT is under construction Today, céline, Construction manager at Ciel & Terre for Ilots Blandin floating solar project shares with us the stakes related to the construction of Europe’s biggest floating solar platform, 74 MWp located in France. “The 74 MWp of the Ilots Blandin project are divided into 6 islands installed on 6 different reservoirs, with 3 reservoirs installed simultaneously by 3 different teams. The sheer scale of the project requires excellent coordination and communication between the various departments involved in the construction, as well as with the other companies involved, while remaining flexible when necessary. The speed of completion requires constant vigilance to ensure the highest level of quality during the assembly, and to correct any behaviour that could compromise worker safety.” Such an achievement is made possible by rigour and teamwork.
