It was an honor to join neighboring farmers and educators at this year's Newbury Elementary School Farm and Field Day event! Alongside over 200+ students and presenters, local Pete & Gerry's Organics, LLC employees shared why it's so important for our Certified Humane® Free-Range and Pasture-Raised hens to enjoy the outdoors. Some of our favorite moments from the day included: 🍳 Spotting the differences between free-range and cage-free eggs with a side-by-side crack test 🕺 Spreading our wings with a few Shelly-inspired pasture dance moves 🚀 Answering the question: "Can free-range hens go to the moon?" We’re proud to ignite curiosity and inspire young minds to think about where their food comes from while sharing our commitment to hen welfare with the next generation. A big thank-you to Newbury Elementary for helping shape a future where both animals and people can thrive—one Certified Humane egg at a time! #AnimalWelfare #FarmtoSchool #PeteAndGerrys

🐾We Step In With Short-Term Action and Long-Term Impact🐾 🐾 Recently, the SPCA conducted a pet census and offered free pet sterilisation services in Langa to actively reduce the number of unwanted animals in the area. Today, our Ani-Pals puppet show took this impact a step further by teaching young learners at the Langa Library to have compassion for animals and to follow the five basic rules of pet care. While sterilisation addresses the urgent pet overpopulation crisis—23,621 animals came through our doors last year—Ani-Pals looks further ahead. By educating children, we’re planting the seeds of empathy and responsibility, creating a future where kindness shapes our communities. 🌱 🌟 Every child who left the library this morning carried more than just a smile—they left with the knowledge and passion to make a difference. Read more about it via the link below and find out how you can make a difference too 🙏 https://lnkd.in/gcfYrAY4 #WeStepIn #AniPals #SPCA #HumaneEducation #KindnessMatters #ResponsiblePetOwnership #AnimalWelfare #EducationForChange #SterilisationSavesLives #CompassionInAction #MakeADifference #ForTheAnimals #LangaCommunity

#WeeklySafetyTopic Kids FarmSafe Week We all know that hard work, responsibility, and pride are essential values for raising great kids. And who better to teach these qualities than our farm kids? They get to learn firsthand about the importance of taking care of land and animals, and the satisfaction of a job well done. Living on a farm is an amazing experience for children. But it's important to remember that farms are not playgrounds - they're places where important work happens. It's crucial that we teach our little ones about safety on the farm while still letting them enjoy all the wonders it has to offer. Check out these resources to help your family thrive and stay safe: - https://ow.ly/hC2M50RGbkx - https://ow.ly/ofpf50RGbkz - https://ow.ly/nOqc50RGbky Let's continue fostering a love for hard work and responsibility in our children while keeping them safe on the farm. The future depends on their growth into responsible stewards of our land and livestock! Think. Act. Be Safe. #Pattisonag #PattisonAgSafety #KeepKidsFarmSafe #ThinkActBeSafe

Canadian Agricultural Safety Association has named this week Kids FarmSafe Week, a great reminder to talk safety with your kids on the farm. Start them thinking about safety at a young age and keep them safe from hazards. Remember: they are watching you work, and will learn habits from you. Be sure to show them the good ones🩷 #weeklysafetytopic #safetyfirst

Here’s what YOU can do to help #StopPuppyMills on #PuppyMillActionWeek! 👇👇👇 📣Be an advocate. Tell your friends, family, and social networks about the dangers of puppy/kitten mills. ✉️Contact your MP. Let them know that you're concerned about the inhumane treatment in puppy mills. ❤️Adopt responsibly: it’s all about supply and demand. The more people purchase unknowingly from a puppy mill, the more likely they are to continue their business. 🚩Spot the red flags of a #BadBreeder: Our downloadable toolkit is a great resource that offers everything you need to know to adopt a dog/cat responsibly. Humane Canada works hard to put a stop to puppy mills by educating Canadians to adopt their next puppy from a reputable rescue, humane society or SPCA or choosing a responsible breeder who provides a healthy, loving environment for their dogs.

📍 The old adage saying - it all begins in school. Incalculate values and civic mindedness as part of #education helps to create a sense of responsibility and empathy towards community and surroundings. The urgent need to mend their respective train of thoughts towards the environment which includes all living being certainly promotes the sense of #empathy and assumption of #responsibility. Empathy towards animals teaches children valuable lessons about responsibility and caring for others. This sense of responsibility fosters self-confidence, as they recognize their capability to make a positive impact. Even without a shared common language, the bond formed between children and animals can be profound. Interactions with animals help children to develop emotional intelligence, learning to recognize and respond to the needs of those around them. This connection not only enhances their understanding of responsibility but also enriches their relationships with peers and the environment. When the focus is about promoting and showing tenderness towards animals in storytelling, children will find ways to interact and learn to co-exist with Nature and the surroundings. The temptation in sharing goriness and blood thirsty creatures to children must be resisted. These sharing creates a sense of fear and children will engage and become defensive. This heightened state will trail into adulthood and gives room for aggression towards animals. It's imperative for parents to reciprocate and engage positively by allowing the children to show #compassion towards animals. Activities such as feeding stray dogs or adopting one, placing a bowl of water with some grains outdoor for the birds, gentle strokes of cats foster deep #bonding and children will resist aggression and mistreatment towards animals. Allowing children to champion animal welfare helps them to connect and deeply understand that they - the children need to give a voice either through drawings, writings, essays, speaking and organizing roadshow to drive a campaign. Growing into adulthood these children will not only develope kindness, they will be kind to themselves and spread kindness to both environment and animals. Therefore :- 🐾Spare a good thought towards the animals around us. 🐾Share space and place for they - the animals belong to the bigger part of Nature. 🐾Co-exist with animals as we need them more as companion. 🐾Spread kindness. ALWAYS. Courtesy - apoyadocente

Many retirees feel a loss of identity, purpose, and community. One thing that can help with that? Thinking back to your childhood dreams. When you were growing up, was there anything you wanted to do or see that you haven't yet? Maybe you wanted to learn to play the piano, or write a book, or work as a veterinarian. Is there any possibility of you fulfilling that dream now, or something close to it? Can you take piano lessons? Start a story? Volunteer at an animal shelter? It's never too late to do what you love. #RetirementGoals #RetirementPlanning #RetirementDreams #RetirementLife #RetirementJourney https://lnkd.in/ei_D8uvb
