In today's Lodi Wine post (https://lnkd.in/gY5AGDsy) continuing our in-depth discussion of terroir: The differences between how commercial and terroir focused wines are made; something one local winery describes as a "liberation from longstanding notions" of how varietals such as old vine Zinfandel (and many other wine types) are supposed to taste like. #terroir #terroirwines #oldvines #zinfandel #zinfandeladvocates #lodiwine #lodiwinecountry #randycaparosophotography

🚀 The release of Barolo 2020 creates exciting opportunities in the market. The Piedmont regional index continues its upward trajectory, with past vintages showcasing extraordinary performance since their initial release. Among the most anticipated releases of the 2024 season are undoubtedly Giacomo Conterno #Barolo Francia 2020 and Bartolo Mascarello Barolo 2020. What makes these legendary #wines so exceptional? 🍷 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Francia 2020 hails from one of the finest crus in Serralunga d’Alba, a prestigious single vineyard in the Barolo-producing area renowned for producing some of the most structured and age-worthy wines. 📈 Historical performance highlights its strong #investment potential: the 2016 vintage saw a +65% increase, 2010 grew by +46%, and the 2009 achieved an outstanding +119% growth. More recently, the 2018 vintage has become one of the most actively traded bottles on eWibe’s #marketplace. The 2020 vintage benefits from a balanced harvest, achieving an excellent harmony of acidity and alcohol despite atypical climatic conditions. Antonio Galloni’s Vinous awarded it an impressive score of 98/100. 🍷 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo 2020, initially likened to the 2018 vintage, is shaping up to be even brighter and more intriguing in quality. To summarize its profile, the aromatic openness and airiness of 2018 meet the drier, more compact, and classic palate of 2019. It may not be a decades-long marathon runner, but it’s an exceptional achievement, awarded with a 98/100 score from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. ➡️ If you want to stay updated on new releases and the world of fine wines, join us at www.ewibe.com.

📝 A very good example of Canadian ice wine made from a grape variety that is ideal for this style. Golden greenish yellow in color, it has fine complexity on the nose, with scents of lemon curd, honey and some passion fruit. Fantastic refreshing acidity on the palate to match the intense sweetness, and very impressive length. 🍷 This is the tasting note elaborated by our jury for the selected wine of Magnotta Winery. #5StarWines2024 #WineWithoutWalls2024 #5StarWinestheBook #ItalianWine #VinoItaliano
