3 surprising places to do competitor research:
(most people don’t know about #2)
Reddit: Subreddits have a bounty of unfiltered opinions and details about a business hard to find anywhere else
Glassdoor: Employee reviews can tell you a lot about the company culture, key initiatives that are working or failing, and how the CEO is viewed.
YouTube: You can often find recorded webinars, demos, reviews, and interviews with execs, all of which give insightful intelligence.
If you’re just getting started, remember:
→ You cannot get PMF or a differentiated product without first doing competitive research
→ Everyone has competition; you need to know what it is, and investors will demand that you know it
→ Nothing replaces the level of intelligence you get from a secret shopper
Don’t underestimate how important competitor research is (especially at the start of building your business.)
Where else do you do competitor research?
P.S. The most efficient use of time to do this is putting all information in a spreadsheet to create a competitive matrix.

1moTotally agree, Peter! It's amazing how many companies overlook the power of storytelling in recruitment marketing. Imagine crafting a narrative that not only showcases your company’s vision but also the journey potential employees can embark on with you. It's like inviting them to be part of something bigger than just a job.
