Similarities can be drawn, perhaps just for fun and a topical post, between Southgate's impending team choice and the decision to migrate from an outdated on-premise system to the cloud 🖥️➡️☁️ Let's face it, it is always hard to move away from what we know and trust. I just spent a year moaning about my old car's looks, high mileage, and lack of modern features, but when I finally got the nod from my wife for us to invest in a new car, I found myself slightly reluctant to go and buy one. I was worried about the what-ifs and effort it would take, and whether it would be as reliable as my existing one, which is hard to believe considering I was driving a nearly 20-year-old Nissan Note 🚙. When replacing on-premise systems, businesses have similar considerations. Your staff know the system, including its flaws, and the vast amount of historical data to migrate is daunting. Over the many years, you've had an abundance of legacy system integrations, customisations, and workflows, that have created resistance to the idea of moving on to something new. Nevertheless, you can't help but notice that perhaps your system isn't quite doing it for you anymore. It's still running (in the case of Harry Kane, rather slowly) and doing the basics, but is it adding true value? Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central are leading the way in the ERP market. They're ready when you are to come 'off the bench' and transform your business in the same way Toney and Watkins have done in this tournament. They're cloud-based with 99.9%+ uptime, so they can be accessed from anywhere and bring together a multitude of processes enabling a single source of truth for fast effective decision-making (unlike our substitutions so far). They are scalable, growing with your business as needed, customisable, and offer strong integration capabilities to allow seamless data flow, data accuracy and reduced manual effort. It is clear that cloud ERP systems have a competitive edge over on-premise. But what about England? Is it time for Gareth to embrace change too? Like your trusted on-premise system, Harry is reliable and has served us well. He deserves his chance in the final for years of service if nothing else, but will that be enough for us to clinch the trophy? Gareth certainly has something to think about with such eager in-form players available to him. And, if they don't start, will they be introduced well before what could well be another extra time and dare I say it, penalties? Whatever happens, whoever plays, I'm proud of our England team and manager, and the strength they've shown when things haven't gone so well. Our whole nation is behind you on Sunday. In a world of layoffs, I’m doing something bold or a bit crazy. I resigned from a dream job at Rivian and returned my laptop/badge earlier this week to embark onto the most exciting adventure yet - my own adventure. You’ve all inspired me in your own ways so I want to share an update, too! It was a lifelong dream to work at an automotive OEM, so I cannot be more grateful and it is bittersweet, yet I am even more excited to dive headfirst into ejus. I’ve chosen to dedicate myself to a few things: 1) scaling up the motorsport art business with ejus racing where I’m seeing so much love from dear customers who share my passion for motorsport and subtle IYKYK art. 2) already in use and underpinning ejusracing.com is our own proprietary supply chain software that forms our enterprise SaaS side of the business. Let’s try to make this our AWS. 3) the most personally important procurement project of my life: building a new family house...with a massive garage, of course. Most important room in the house. Did you think I would really forget about supply chain and go draw full time? ;)

#Robocup2024 Competition Day 2 was a strong day from #CIAIRI's #RedbackBots: * Game 3: 1 - 0 win vs Dutch Nao Team (NLD). We scored our first win against our rivals from last year, including our first non-own goal for the competition (https://lnkd.in/gQCRsmSv) * Game 4: 2 - 3 loss vs R2-ZweiKickers (GER). We narrowly went down in a tightly fought game. It was the game of the competition so far, with a lot of back-and-forth gameplay. * We demonstrated in a live game our Augment Reality system to 4 other teams. Everyone who tried out the system thought it was a great work. We're getting strong positive feedback, and even some requests for teams to work on the system with us! Simulator Sessions in preparation for race weekends are crucial for the driver to get familiarity with the track and to focus on the upcoming challenge and become essential if the former has never raced in a particular circuit. I feel privileged every time to follow their training, tracking their performance and closely look at their data. Furthermore, it gets satisfying when real-data well correlate with Simulations and the feedback on the vehicle models is positive as all the pieces of work come into place.
