𝐥𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲  A subsurface sucker rod pump assembly is a type of artificial lift system used in oil wells to extract fluids. It is the most common and economical method for lifting fluids from moderate depths. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤  The sucker rods are connected to a surface unit, which provides the reciprocating motion that drives the plunger up and down within the pump barrel. As the plunger moves down, the standing valve opens, allowing fluid to enter the pump barrel. On the upstroke, the standing valve closes, and the traveling valve opens, allowing the fluid to flow up the annulus (the space between the tubing and the wellbore) to the surface. 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲  1. Choose a clean and organized workspace with enough room for laying out the pump components. 2. Thoroughly clean all pump parts to remove any debris or contaminants. Inspect for any damage or wear that might affect performance. 3. The downhole pump is the core assembly that goes into the well. It typically consists of a pump barrel, plunger, standing valve, and valve rod. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀: 🔹Remove the valve cap of the first valve. Put a rod in the cap and hit with a hammer to loosen, pull this cap out. Then pull the second part out, this may need a small bar to start it 🔹Remove the discharge spring and valve. 𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒆: 𝑰𝒇 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔, 𝒔𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎 𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒔. Wash out the seat area. 🔹Place the puller and threaded rod into the seat and turn to lock in place. Put the plate over the rod, then the jack, then the nut. 🔹Hook up the hydraulic jack pump. Open the bleed off valve on pump. Tighten the nut and make sure puller is in position and tighten with hammer until the jack is down. Close bleeder. 🔹Chain the rod to the pump to keep the rod from flying. Have all personnel stand back and have the pump as far away as possible. Pump until the seat pops loose. 🔹Remove seat, clean and dry the seat area of the mud pump. Clean and dry the new seat. Set the seat in place by using the correct tool and tap the seat in place with hammer. 🔹Check the valve cap seal and replace if damaged. 🔹Position new valve on top of seat. Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ Greetings colleagues, What happened here? .. ☕ Who do we call? ☎️ Problems and failures in the use of flexible tubing: ⚠️🔥 - Ovality: defined as 100% x [Dmax Dmin] / Dnominal above a fixed amount. - Ballooning: which is caused by high pressure in overworked tubing. - Necking: caused by excessive tensile force during use; this is often made worse by any prior lowering of the tensile strength. - Corrosion: on either surface, which is caused by acid, sea-water. - Erosion: on either surface, which can be caused by fluid flow, including acid. - Splits: which result from high pressure, corrosion and pounding, in various combinations. - Injection damage: in which transverse marks, or longitudinal gouges are placed in the OD of the tube. - Wear: against the well or casing, which includes wear caused from buckling. - Strain softening problems: which manifest themselves through loss of yield strength, and which are currently impossible to measure without cutting the tube. This affects collapse resistance. The most serious problems induced in UCT are however, created by relatively sharp bottomed transversely oriented imperfections from which fatigue cracks may initiate during tensile or bend cycling.
