Here are some great ideas of how you can celebrate National Rescue Dog🐾🐾 Day tomorrow; POST A PHOTO: Share a photo of your rescue dog🐾🐾 on social media by using #nationalrescuedogday Explain what makes your rescue dog🐾🐾 special to inspire others to adopt! GIVE LOVE: Shower your rescue dog🐾🐾 with love in the form of a leisurely walk, a delicious treat, a new toy, or just some extra cuddle time. ADOPT: Adopt a dog🐾🐾 from a local shelter or a pure breed rescue group to save a life. FOSTER: Provide a temporary home for a rescue dog🐾🐾. Many dogs🐾🐾 abandoned to shelters benefit from socialization, or would just thrive better away from the shelter environment. Others may need some medical care or rehabilitation in a home setting before an adoption can take place. This is also a great way to see if you’re ready to adopt and make the life-long commitment. HELP A SHELTER: Check your local shelter website to donate and to view their wish list of much needed items such as blankets, toys, treats, and leashes. You can also host a bake sale, car wash, or other event and donate the proceeds back to the shelter. VOLUNTEER: Help out at your local shelter. Taking dogs🐾🐾 for walks, grooming, and giving them plenty of affection improves their socialization. SPAY/NEUTER: Be responsible for your pets. Overpopulation is the number one reason shelters exist. Potts, my basset, has discovered that each August 1st is actually ‘Dogust 1st': the universal birthday for the shelter dogs; a day to celebrate the birthday of all dogs in, or adopted from, rescue shelters. Dogs whose actual date of birth will never be known, as adopters are often only given a general age. This presents a great opportunity to promote #Pets4Pets, whilst making it totally inclusive for former shelter doggies' owners to donate the monetary equivalent of their adopted dog's age to a cause on their 'birthdays'. Put a note in your diary. #Pets4Pets will happen. And it may be bigger and longer-lasting than #FirstFiver, with the potential to go global. #PetGiving #PawsMarketing

I'm sorry, I normally post /comment/repost mainly work related issues. it's not very professional to let your emotions take over, but I'm so upset today with what goes on inside these "Shelters" What gives these "shelters" the right to kill (or as the prefer to say euthanize)? and really why are they really allowed to call themselves shelters? they kill just to make room to get another animal in, and then they will kill that one too Despicable p s.: if you have Californians in your network pls pls share
