𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐚 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧, part of the 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, aims to leverage its expertise in hydrogen, LNG, wind, and ammonia to develop sustainable maritime solutions, including ammonia-powered vessels, in collaboration with 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐚 𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬. 𝐆𝐂𝐌𝐃’s recent ammonia transfer trials at the Pilbara region demonstrate the feasibility of ammonia bunkering, setting the stage for future port readiness. Both partners are also advancing onboard carbon capture systems, with 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐚 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 receiving 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐀𝐢𝐏) for its technology from the 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲. Powering the Future of Aviation: St1 Sverige AB Nordic Refinery in Gothenburg has launched the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using Honeywell’s Ecofining™ technology. The biorefinery will produce 200,000 tons of renewable fuel annually, supporting regional airlines like BRA - Braathens Regional Airlines and contributing to the European Union’s ReFuelEU initiative. This project is expected to cut CO2 emissions from air and road traffic by 500,000 tons annually, making it a critical player in Europe’s green aviation future. ARENA funds cleaner aviation fuels developments The federal government has announced $14.1 million from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to back projects seeking to develop cleaner, greener aviation fuel options to reduce emissions in the aviation sector.
