The 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐙𝐢𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝 project represents over 3,500 MW of new renewable generation located in Torrance, Lincoln, and San Miguel Counties, New Mexico and will represent the largest wind project in the Western Hemisphere. SunZia Transmission is a 550-mile ± 525 kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line between central New Mexico and south-central Arizona, with the capacity to transport 3,000 MW of clean, renewable energy. Together, total investment of more than $8 billion and enough energy to power the needs of more than 3 million Americans. Both projects are privately funded and will deliver over $1 billion in estimated direct economic benefits to governments, communities, schools, and private landowners across Arizona and New Mexico. 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞: ⚡ Provide technical due diligence and review all project construction-related documents, contracts, and fieldwork. ⚡ Oversee and manage the construction of wind, solar, and transmission projects, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule are top priorities. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: 📋 Review construction documents for compliance and completeness. 📋 Support early development projects with constructability reviews and early engineering. 📋 Negotiate and manage construction contracts with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and other stakeholders. 📋 Ensure smooth project execution by managing interfaces with major equipment suppliers, utilities, and lenders. 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞/𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 🧠 8+ years of progressive experience in the power industry with significant wind energy experience; solar and transmission experience is a plus. 🧠 Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management with a strong electrical focus. 🧠 Proven ability to deliver multi-million dollar construction projects on time and within budget. Q: Roman, how long have you been with the company, and what is your professional background? A: For the past year and a half, I've been proud to be part of the El-Mor Renewable Energy team. Starting as a supervisor, I have grown into a site manager role, overseeing the setup of a solar site from the ground up. After graduating with a BA in Business Administration, I have had the privilege of working in renewable energy for the past 3 years, primarily in site supervision and management roles. One of my most rewarding experiences was managing the construction of solar systems on rooftops across the country through municipal projects and regional tenders. Q: What is your area of responsibility? A: My responsibilities include managing all phases of the site’s development- preparing the site, working closely with engineering and logistics teams, coordinating material procurement, and integrating subcontractors across various disciplines like electrical and civil works. Ensuring that we meet project goals and uphold quality standards, while safeguarding the interests of all stakeholders, is always my top priority. Q: What is the most significant challenge you have experienced? A: Every day presents new challenges - tight schedules, complex environments, and unforeseen obstacles. But with careful pre-planning, close supervision, dynamic thinking, and creative problem-solving, I believe that any challenge can be overcome. On the project I’m currently wrapping up, meeting deadlines despite the challenging conditions and the complexity of the worksite has been significant but rewarding achievement.
