We wish our friends at ABL well as they recover from what appears to be a pad fire. This event underscores how difficult launch is and why so few organizations worldwide have made it into orbit with a new vehicle. The talent pool is small, the capital required is high, and the results are unforgiving. Despite that, once that capability is achieved, launch becomes an extraordinarily valuable strategic capability https://ow.ly/iySr50SJbU0

How do we tackle the challenges facing Europe's #NewSpace future? This was the central question at the #MunichNewSpaceSummit, where our CCO Dennis Moore joined the panel: "Charting Europe's Cosmic Future: Enhancing New Space Appeal" to explore how Europe can accelerate space sector growth. The way we see it: 1️⃣ Europe must improve support for high-growth space companies 2️⃣ Funding must prioritize capability building over pure tech development 3️⃣ Strategic partnerships with established players are crucial (A key focus at Reflex) Now it's the time to implement practical steps toward a more competitive, growth-friendly European space sector. Did you miss Dennis on stage last week? You'll have a chance to hear from him again on the Innovation Stage at #GlobalMilSatCom next week in London. #NextSpace #MNSS #SpaceTech Munich Aerospace

🚀 Exciting news! 🚀 We are proud to announce that ClearSpace, Astroscale and D-Orbit, have secured £691,000 in funding from the UK government's Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology (DSIT) to support the Regulatory Sandbox for Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) missions. This funding will help us work directly with regulators to develop the frameworks needed to enable safe, sustainable, and scalable In-Orbit Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) missions. The ISAM sector represents a £14B global opportunity, and this initiative is key to ensuring the UK capitalizes on its position as a global leader in this field. As ClearSpace's Rory Holmes explains: “The advanced RPO capabilities developed by ClearSpace play a pivotal role in unlocking ISAM activities, which are set to provide enduring value to both public and private satellite operators, enabling novel space activities and ensuring safe and sustainable operations. Establishing a robust and well-defined regulatory framework is essential to driving scalable and dynamic ISAM activities. We look forward to engaging with regulators to shape a clear licensing pathway for RPO missions in the UK.” This project is no small feat — navigating the complexities of regulation, technology, and innovation in space is no easy task. But it’s an essential challenge, and we're up for it. The impact of getting this right will be far-reaching for the UK’s space sector. By working in partnership with regulators and stakeholders, we aim to remove uncertainty and create a clear pathway that enables innovative space activities. We are committed to driving this project forward and ensuring that ClearSpace plays a leading role in shaping the future of the space sector — ensuring it is both economically vibrant and environmentally sustainable. Let’s do it. ➡️ Read more in details: https://lnkd.in/edCUxte9 Rory Holmes | Julia Astley | Romain Buchs #SpaceTech #Innovation #ClearSpace #RPO #ISAM #SpaceIndustry #UKSpace #RegulatorySandbox #InOrbitServicing #SustainableSpace #SpaceExploration

Meet us at THE BR-DGE, the center of gravity for space innovation, located in the heart of El Segundo, California—the aerospace capital of the world. Here, we catalyze an innovation ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs building space capabilities for the new space economy, a commercial space sector projected to grow from $630 billion in 2023 to $1.8 trillion by 2035—almost twice the rate of global GDP growth. On April 25, 2024, I2A Expo Day celebrated the inaugural I2A (Innovate to Accelerate) cohort, bringing together government stakeholders, venture capitalists and industry professionals. The inaugural I2A cohort saw 18 companies leverage $30.4 million in non-dilutive financing to develop innovative technologies addressing the most pressing challenges in national space today. Through our strategic partnerships with SpaceWERX, and as the aerospace lead for California’s Space Industry Task Force (SITF) and Los Angeles County, discover how we are shaping the future of the space economy.
