Making Quality Healthcare Accessible to All, DIGITALly! As we celebrate #digitalhealthweek2024, We are reminded of just how far we’ve come in reimagining healthcare across Africa—and how much further we’re eager to go. With good technology and utmost compassion, we’re proud to be at the heart of this digital health movement, bringing quality healthcare closer to those who need it most. Last week was incredible as we joined inspiring voices at the Africa HealthTech Summit - AHTS, sharing ideas with other passionate leaders, youth advocates, and organizations that believe in a brighter future for healthcare on our continent. We’re here because we believe healthcare should be simple, affordable, and accessible. With Pharmarun today, pharmacies can service more customers, people can access quality medications, get free health consultations, monitor their health from wherever they are on the pharmarun app — all with just a few clicks. To us, digital health means using technology to break down barriers, whether distance, cost or even stigma. And every day, we’re excited to be part of that journey, making healthcare easier for people to access, especially in hard-to-reach places. We see digital health as the path to a healthier, more connected Africa, where everyone can get the care they need without hurdles. Being part of The Africa Digital Health Networks - ADHN means we’re not in this alone. There is a network of brilliant minds working together to drive change, share resources, and solve the continent’s healthcare challenges with new, bold ideas. We invite you to join us in supporting this mission, to be part of the solution, and to help drive the next wave of health innovation. Want to be a part of something rewarding? #digitalhealth is changing the way we think about healthcare, and Samuel Knauss will be at the World Health Summit’s side event, 'Digital Health Unbound', on the 16.10. to be part of the conversation, organized by the Global Digital Last Mile Health Lab at the Charité Center for Global Health together with the Geneva Digital Health Hub and the Digital Transformations of Health Lab (DTH-Lab) in Geneva. What’s on the agenda? The big question: How can digital health leap over borders and break down barriers? How can we make sure it’s not just about fancy tech but about real, tangible access to care for everyone? It’s all about collaboration, innovation, and scaling solutions – the kind of work that fuels everything we do. We’ve been doing this since 2022 – building a digitally-enabled ecosystem that connects producers, healthcare providers, and companies. Our platform triangulates and validates data on health and livelihoods (all with a lock-tight grip on privacy), bringing healthcare to thousands of small-scale producers across Ghana, Madagascar, Ecuador, and Venezuela. So, when we say we are excited about what is going down at Digital Health Unbound – it is because this is what we truly believe in real-world impact, powered by digital health. If you’re in Berlin for the event (and we hope you are!), grab a coffee with Samuel Knauss, and let’s see how we can keep pushing the limits of healthcare together. Primary healthcare and technology Day 2 of the Medic East Africa and Medlab East Africa event proved to be wholesome. The panels held interesting discussions in both matters health policies and integration of digital solutions. Highlight of my experience was interaction with Dr Radha Karnad who is the lead, Strategy Partnerships and growth at HealthX Africa and was also a panelist in the discussion; Revolutionizing healthcare in Kenya and East Africa: Exploring the impact of disruptive digital technologies on healthcare delivery and access. Even though there have been significant revolutions in the health sector in achievement of primary healthcare such as adoption of AI and telemedicine, there have also been various challenges. Some of the recommendations suggested to curb these challenges were: • Use of technology that encompasses the African community. This includes systems that have been created using data on African demographics. • Address the social determinants of health. These include matters such as lifestyle, living conditions, access to information and even economic ability. As both panelists for the discussion said, we cannot accurately predict what healthcare will look like in a couple of years because new technology comes up every now and then. There is just so much that can be achieved through the collaboration of the health and technology sectors even in achieving primary and universal health coverage in the longrun. #MedicEastAfrica #MedlabEastAfrica

📢Have you read the Healthtech Policy Blueprint? 💥Catch the Highlights! "This Blueprint developed by HealthTech Hub Africa and partners captures the challenges, opportunities, recommendations on policies to fast track innovation in public health on the continent. It aims to support decision-makers by providing overall policy directions, specific actions and practical examples to complement their existing efforts to accelerate healthtech in Africa and enable the development, testing and sustainability of innovations. Although some African countries already have policies, strategies and/or legislation on healthtech (sometimes referred to as a digital health strategy), those strategies and policies do not focus on the needs of innovators, thus hindering the optimal use of healthtech across the continent." 🎬Watch our video for 5 main highlights from the blueprint If you haven't read it , you should get to it ASAP ✨ Read here : https://lnkd.in/d2CfdSy7 #HTHA #HealthTechPolicy #InnovationForAfrica #DigitalHealthTransformation #PolicyBlueprint
