The As a member of Medable's Patient Caregiver Network, I am thrilled to announce my participation in the upcoming panel, "Patient Perspectives and Partnering." At Medable, patients are the experts, and I have the privilege of using my personal life experience as a patient to help shape the future of DCTs and foster a better relationship between patients and clinical research. In the spirit of partnering with patients, I had the honor of writing Medable’s LGBTQ+ Global Playbook. As a gender-fluid patient, I have experienced unique healthcare situations - some good, some bad, and some straight-up horrific. The purpose of the playbook was to assess Medable's relationship with the LGBTQ+ community and identify ways to improve clinical language, DCT enrollment, and community engagement. I am extremely proud to say that not only were my suggestions enthusiastically welcomed by the team but they were also implemented and will make a legitimate difference. Performative allyship is prevalent in corporate America, and there is a big difference between being an "ally" to the community and being a "champion" of the community. But it was clear to me from the very beginning that Medable actually cares about LGBTQ+ issues and making sure DCT experiences are comfortable for EVERYONE. If you're interested in hearing more about how we are innovating with inclusivity, please join us on April 23rd at 11pm EST, and I look forward to telling you more about the Global Playbook and the continued efforts of Medable and its Patient Caregiver Network. #Medable #DCT #clinicalresearch #LGBTQ+ #inclusivity #patientperspectives #partnering

Do you know that Patient-centered approaches improve patient satisfaction and engagement and enhance trial data's quality and reliability? Clinical trials play a crucial role in advancing medical science, evaluating new treatments, and improving patient outcomes. However, traditional trial designs have often overlooked the patient experience. In recent years, there has been a paradigm shift towards patient-centric approaches, recognizing that engaged and satisfied patients contribute to better trial data quality and reliability. Here are some ways to improve patient-centricity in clinical trials: 𝟭. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀: Tailoring clinical trials to meet the unique needs and preferences of individual patients, ensuring a more personalized care experience. 𝟮. 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀: Offering clinical trials with flexible designs that cater to the needs of patients, making it easier for them to participate. 𝟯. 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀: Encouraging open communication between patients and trial staff, fostering a collaborative environment. 𝟰. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀: Designing clinical trial sites that are patient-friendly, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for participants. Patient-centricity matters because it improves satisfaction, engagement, data quality, and reduces dropout rates in clinical trials. When patients feel involved, they're more satisfied, engaged, and provide reliable data, leading to better outcomes. #ClinicalTrials #ClinicalResearch #PatientCentricity #PatientEngagement #HealthcareInnovation
