This Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, PharmD Live is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of early detection. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men worldwide, with 1 in 8 men diagnosed in their lifetime. 🚨 Men over 50, or those with a family history or higher risk factors, should consult their healthcare provider about when to begin screening. Early detection can reduce the mortality rate by up to 30%, making it crucial for men to prioritize their health. 🔬 At PharmD Live, we provide personalized care solutions that integrate seamlessly with physician clinics, supporting proactive health management and early detection efforts. Let’s work together to reduce the impact of prostate cancer through education and timely intervention. #ProstateCancerAwareness #EarlyDetection #MensHealth #PharmDLive #PreventiveCare https://lnkd.in/eFnvJ7d

October is #breastcancerawarenessmonth. This year’s theme is “No one should face breast cancer alone.” From the World Health Organization: Breast cancer is the most common cancer globally with around 2.3 million new cases every year. It represents one in eight cancer cases in both sexes and a quarter of all cancers in women1 with 70% mortality occurring in resource constrained settings. Health system barriers and patient level factors with low levels of awareness and knowledge are contributing to low uptake of early detection services, with resultant late-stage diagnoses and poor outcomes. Early detection is key! This month is a great reminder to do your self exams and schedule a mammogram.

#No-oneshouldfacebreastcanceralone #breastcancerawareness Breast cancer remains a significant health threat. Low-and-middle-income countries (LMIC) bear the highest burden, where more than two-thirds of breast cancer deaths occur. Challenges in the health systems and low uptake of early detection programs result to late-stage diagnoses and poor outcome. We need collective efforts and continue policy dialogues to drive systematic improvements to early detection, access to care and treatment, and seek to reduce mortality from breast cancer in LMICs.

Excellent initiative and very necessary to bring awareness to the issue.
Prostate cancer disproportionately affects Black men, who often experience longer delays between diagnosis and treatment than white men. A major cause of this disparity? Inadequate healthcare access. At Labcorp, we are committed to improving access for all so we can help cultivate healthier, thriving communities. That's why we've teamed up with Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center to raise awareness of prostate cancer in the Philadelphia area. Together, we hope to spread the word on prostate cancer risk and the important role of testing in early detection.
